| | Re: Part 6214: how can I use this thing?
|
| If you did apply stickers, it would make for a great theatre Marquee (BIJOU, FOX, STATE, PANTAGES, LOEWS, etc). You could do a vertical sign above the center of the brick, and have a nice Art Deco Theatre sign. Gary Istok (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

| With the slow trickle of Bulk Items, I wouldn't mind if Lego Direct came out with "parts pack" type bulk items where (for example) you had all 3 types of steep sloped bricks (1x2x3, 2x2x3, 2x2x3 corner) in a specific color set, or say inside/outside (...) | I was thinking last year about an April Fool's joke, but never got the time for it..... I have about 40 old worn and very discolored without glass (and totally useless) classic windows/doors (all types except the 1x2x1 and the 1x1x1) that I had (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

| | Re: History of wheel and tire designs
|
| I will check some of my old 1962-64 LEGO Wheels and wheel sets (#314, 400, 401, 402), but I think what I state below is fairly accurate: LEGO wheels first came out in 1962. The oldest wheels had the red 2x2 wheels with gray tires, and white 2x4 (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

| (...) What's changed is that TLC believes (perhaps correctly, perhaps not) that kids nowadays have short attention spans, and will not be interested in building a big, complex set over, say, watching TV or playing the computer. (...) Yep, that's (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

| | All quiet on the TLC Front???
|
| It sure has been quiet on the Lego Direct front. No new parts sets..... rather disappointing. I wonder what the future holds? I do wish they would come out with some more items, especially windows (castle and town), some arches would be nice, as (...) (24 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.general)

|
| Good answer Clark! You are correct. The original Lego sets from the late 50's had blue borders with lots of yellow background in the picture on the box, and "LEGO System in Play" in lots of different languages. From 1960-65 (or thereabouts) the (...) (24 years ago, 23-Apr-01, to lugnet.general)

| One of the main reasons I have a good supply of rare parts is that I did this same thing in Germany in 1979, 80, 81, 82, 83, 85, 87, 89, 92, 93.
