Re: Who oversees the rec.toys.LEGO newsgroup?

(...) I agree with Todd, it's why I left RTL in 1999. The Mad Hatter was the final straw. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Which recent sets contain yellow Classic 1x2x2 windows?

(...) Sorry Eric, I should have been more specific. I meant in YELLOW. The small sizes (1x1x2, 1x2x1, 1x1x1) were only ever available in parts packs in red and white. Never in yellow. And the only parts pack that ever had the 1x2x2 in yellow was a (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Which recent sets contain yellow Classic 1x2x2 windows?

(...) Not in North America! Actually not anywhere in the world..... (on a technicality) because the 1x2x1 (along with the 1x1x2 and 1x1x1) were never in any parts pack. They were only ever in 60's and 70's (and maybe an early 80's) sets (usually (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Which recent sets contain yellow Classic 1x2x2 windows?

(...) 1976 Police set #585 had 11 of these yellow windows, probably the most in any set. Basic set #517 had 2, and several of the 1970's Shell sets had a few as well. But there are a few other basic sets in the last 15 years that had these. And then (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

LEGO should reissue some classic windows.

Dear Brad Justus, I have mentioned before (ad nauseum), but it would be nice if LEGO re-issued some of their classic windows (originally produced from 1957 to the late 1970s). Here are some reasons: 1) the 1x1x1, 1x1x2 and 1x2x1 small classic (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  RE: Lego "pegging" disks

(...) But they DID, way, way back. I still have a set (2 Yellow 3 blue and 2 red) of the old BIG tooth gears. The yellow set is about the size of an 8x8 plate nad has a 5x5 grid of holes. The set has the old white Technic axles and red bushings. (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

  Re: Look at this!!!

(...) Well I am sure gonna keep an eye on this auction. I have about two to three times this lot in brochures and catalogs from the 60's to the 90's that are collecting dust. If it gets any bids, well maybe it's time to do some EBAY'ing. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Steerable town rig

(...) Doesn't matter. Ed Boxer won more than once for different sections of his site and deserved it each time. Gary Istok won for stuff he gave me that's on MY site. So I think an award specifically for this page is just fine and justifiable. (25 years ago, 19-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish)

(...) Hi Lindsay, I just saw a group of 16 of these go for over $23 on US EBAY. I was bidding on them, but then I decided it was getting pricey, and figured that when LEGO Direct starts with bulk sales, I could get a lot more of them for $23. But I (...)   Re: Lego(R) Numbering. What happens when we run out of numbers?

(...) Not exactly sure what TLC will do with future numbering. But if the past is any indication (enter "725" in the LUGNET database and see how many entries there are) set number reuse is much more frequent than one might think. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

Nick, you might want to keep an eye out in EBAY for these classic windows. The 1x2x1 was produced from 1957 until the mid 1970's. They were very popular then (as they still are today). Nick, you might also want to go to lugnet.dearlego and leave a (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
