Re: Halloween Bucket Pieces are now available

(...) Check out: (URL) to Thomas P. Rafert for the excellent set inventory, very easy to read. _ _ Scott Smallbeck materiel@halcyon.com (27 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: WOW Quit here

The problem I have is that I don't quite live in Mesa but about 65 miles east, so it may be not until next week I get a change to go down... I'm kinda curious if MS is worth the 200 dollar asking price??? And I woul like to see the set.... Dave (...) (27 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.az.phx)

  RE: Building gcc

  Re: GTG in Denver

I was suggesting dinner just for an "introductory" phase. I though we could figure things out from there. I would love to have a building session. Does anyone have the space so that we could spread out? Our place is too disorganized at the moment. (...) (27 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.co.den)

(...) I will be heading by there again today, and will double-check. I probably did not notice them because of relative disinterest in those sets. But hey, at $5, that is a pretty good deal.   Re: Building gcc

(...) I wonder if this is the step I was missing. After following Allen's instructions, I ran into troubles with an include directory missing files, so I just created empty files and the compilation complete fine.   Building gcc

After some agony, I've discovered that the instructions for building a gcc cross-compiler miss out a vital step (probably because its one of those things that's so obvious to people who regularly build cross-compilers that they forget they've done (...)   Re: 4,5 V replacement/9v compatibility

Dear Hans, I'm not aware of any replacement motor sources but let me see if I have an extra 4.5v motor unit in used/good condition. Also, since the newer, 9v wheels (on both wheelsets and on the motor) are narrower than their 4.5v counterparts, they (...) (27 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.trains)

Re: To step or not to step

I encountered the same problem with the DC motors I use on my robot. I used a reflective type encoder that read a black and white stripe of the driving wheels, but did not work reliably due to lack of resoulution and interference from ambient light. (...)
