Re: 2000 Sets at local Targets

(...) Argh. Of course, it helps if one actually *sets* the FUT.! (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.tx.aus, lugnet.loc.us.tx.hou)

Re: Giant Cruiser and MOC contest

I'm game. I have three large minifig scale ideas floating in my head right now. Whatever you do, give the people plenty of time to create their entries, it will result in a much better field. It has been a while since I created a space MOC and up (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Enough already

(...) A clearer distinction can be drawn by saying "you are acting like a such and such" as opposed to saying "you *are* a such and such." Similar to the difference between "you are lying" and "you are a liar." By criticizing someone's action or (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Enough already

(...) See, this is where you lose me. Completely. The prove it Prove It, PROVE IT! post struck me as amazingly rude. And NOT rude to TLC. To *Todd.* That's who is was being addressed to, no? Todd had taken a stance which he felt (excuse me for (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: NELUG meeting report from 12/16/1999

(...) Hi, I would like to contribute a MOC or two. I think my current Roman Villa would fit in, and it's modular on 32x32 or 16x32 plates. It doesn't have a recent web page, but it has a big imposing entrance portico, an enclosed garden, stables, (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.org.us)

Re: Lego get together in DFW? When Where?

(...) AFAIK, it hasn't crystallized yet. I'd love to join in, though! I'll be in the FW area around the 26th through the first, possibly after, too. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.tx.dfw)

  Re: Powering trains w/ RCX

Steve, and anyone else interested, There should be another way to power the RCX, but I'm not sure if you can get the stuff to do it anymore. (if TLG is replacing them with the old stock 'with a good reason' then that is the best way to go) You used (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Arkansas AFOL Rollcall

Looks pretty Lego-lonely in AR, Rob. I visit Little Rock AND Hot Springs several times a year. Do I count as an AR Lego fan? Some of my family lives in N.Little Rock. I usually find great deals at the Targets, Wal-Marts and K-Marts in the area. I (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ar)

  High Bandwidth webpage

I've created a special high bandidth page featuring a rotaing Tantive IV model with a starmap background. It is big, (> 1meg) but I think it is pretty cool. I need to learn some new techniques for creating this type of page so that I can get them (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Lego get together in DFW? When Where?

Did all of you DFW folks decide on a gathering place and time? I will be in town during a portion of the holidays and would love to attend any fan related event. My apologies if this info. appeared somewhere else in this newsgroup. I searched and (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.tx.dfw)

Re: 2000 US in-box Technic catalog

I must protest, Mr. Koesel, you were snooping around on a private site and posting the correct URL is a violation of Huw's privacy. <thwock> Er, what?... Never mind. (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

Utah: Train and cargo center sale at Zany Brainy

Hello fellow Wafolites. Zany Brainy is having a half-price sale on the town Jr. Cargo Center and is offering $50 off the "construction" train set. Both of these sets are usually only available through S@H. Sorry, I forgot the set numbers and (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ut)

Re: Star Wars Episode 1 Video Tape

(follow-ups to off-topic.fun) (...) I wouldn't know for the old ones, I was too young to see most movies in theatres. :) However, The release of TPM didn't change ticket prices outright around here. In fact, most places seem to have stayed the same. (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: I know its an auction...

(...) Hmm, waitasec... John... When you say "we'll," does that mean that the auction you were pointing to was your own? If so, the obvious next question is how come you didn't simply not host copies of the images on your separate non-auction website (...)   Re: Enough already

(...) Just stepping in to point out that the scans are invaluable to me and I would be impacted by not having them around. At least, I *would* be if I got off my duff and started turning the 200+ pounds of used, unsorted LEGO back into sets again. I (...)   080 (was Re: Tower Building (was Re: 'Fest pics are up))

Interesting thing about 080 is that it never appeared in the UK catalogues AFAIK. First there was 010 to 070, then it went to 011 to 088 Super Set (with motor). However, 080 was in the French catalogue, and if you asked for a UK toy shop to get it (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general)

I need the gray cockpit piece from the Bi-Wing Barron and 2 rifles (I found this set opened at K-Mart, but missing these 3 pieces, so the manager gave me 20% off.) I am willing to trade, but preferably to buy. Please let me know! (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: The wife problem

I ordered the Blue Turbo (for the wife for Christmas) and the big adventurers set from Toy City (and got the latest Harry Potter FoC!) when it looked like I would be at home to handle the delivery...
