www.toyshop.com - Were we right or wrong?

Some thoughts on last night's events: Did I fell bad last night after I placed my order? Yes. A little - My order was for £100+. Then I remembered that when I placed my last order for xmas presents etc. they would not even give me a free shipping (I (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Unified UK Lego Web Page/Community?

(...) Heh - no problem here - if you implement them, then we can steal back the implementation method ;) (...) True, I mean - those would definately be in the lugnet.faq at some point, but work on that seems to be in progress still. (...) Cool idea, (...)   Is Your CC Transaction at WWW.THETOYSHOP.COM Sucure?

I think it is. I had a problem with them when I placed my last order. The crux of the problem was that no staff at The Entertainer (WWW.THETOYSHOP.COM) could actually see my credit card details as the whole transaction is supposed to be secure. Of (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: e-commerce (was Technic shuttle etc)

(...) This was the first thing I thought- and I've got a URL about it: -> (URL) may break. Feh.) Good luck, but I doubt they'll honour the orders- but with some of the Americans I've seen on the previous thread, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  IR scanner

All the talk recently about lasers, traversing mazes, infra-red transmission, and trying to accurately track your robot's position in a room or maze has gotten me thinking. What if you built a rotating laser or infrared transmitter on top of your (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: ordinery vs. action minifigs

(...) I agree that there should be more mundane characters available or at least parts (body parts too) to make our own. I always had more fun putting ordinary people in extraordinary situations as a child, it offered more role- play ability. My (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Thank guys! We're very glad you liked our ItLUG site. We consider the design phase not yet finished, but the idea is definitely there. (...) Hope you don't mind if we steal some of *your* ideas :-) BTW, an other item that could be useful is a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.it)

  Mega OT: hosting

Scusate (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.it)

Re: Can somebody help me find these sets?

(...) Okay people, my TRU is now dry on this set, if they get more I am lucky. The good news they had one 1782, the bad news is that they only had one. The first email to maniac@vol.com I received in my earlier post was from ScottR. I will see if he (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

I am wondering if I am the only person who thinks that the Hydronauts with the blued-silver deep"space" helmet (add a black visor) makes an awesome shocktroop for boarding raids and heavy combat?   How much are tudor walls worth?

I noticed that a recent set of 12 yellow tudor walls went for $120 on eBay. Is that actual value these days, or was that an anomalous bidding war? At any rate, I'm curious, in case I want to sell mine in the future. Thanks.... -- Paul Davidson (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Aw, don't worry -- there's no such thing as imposing data upon LUGNET. Its whole purpose in life is to give data good homes -- especially text and structured data. (...)   Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

Hi, I'm considering an Adventurers-themed Lego project that involves a structure that, when triggered, can sink into the "ground" (as on The Mummy). My general idea is that at four locations (two on each of opposite sides), the part of the structure (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Christmas tree decorations

(...) Neat! using the Shell sets like that is a nifty idea. They're so small and cute. I almost did a similar tree last year with Erector sets. Erector/Mechano had a whole line of mini-sets...trucks, planes, moto's etc. but they were a bit too heavy (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.fun.holiday)
