Re: News on the 2000 space line!

My 2 cents about the Lego system/theme controversy... In the 60s, there were no themes, and all Lego toys (I think) were called Lego System (of play). In the 70s, the word system was not used to describe any Lego toys, or themes, etc - there were (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.space, lugnet.admin.database)

  Different Idea over CastleDastville

Ok, I read James reasons for why it seems the idea is dead, how about instead of doing something like that. We start a castle with a ldraw, we build however much we want, and we then send it off to someone else and let them build onto it what they (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Whatever happened to castle Datville?

(...) I think it died due to lack of <fill in the blank> We had lots of enthusiasm, and lots of great ideas, but we lacked a site, someone willing to put in the CAD expertise (I think?), and final decision on what would get done. As I recall, some (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Whatever happened to castle Datville?

That would be cool to get one created! I could add a few things to it pretty easily, if I didn't need my 400 pent for school work I'd offer some of the rendering, though even at 400 would take more time then I've probably got free from the system :( (...)   Whatever happened to castle Datville?

Now that I just wrote the message for the adventurers group, I'm curious-- was there ever any more initiative taken towards a castle Datville? Jon Wilson? I seem to remember you had wanted to direct it? Maybe someone else wants to? Or am I quietly (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Connecting two RCX's

(...) Another case would be where you also want to use IR for doing radar. If you had IR messages bouncing around for both radar and communication, it might confuse the radar algorithm or generate incorrect readings. (You'd also have to reserve a (...)   DATventures

Well, I suggested as a possibility for fellow adventurers that someone might want to do an adventures themed datsville, so to speak... You'd have to pick the theme, etc., but it might be fun! If you don't know what Datsville is, check out: (URL) (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Busy Bee and discontinued sets

This past weekend I received a fax from Paul Hutton at Busy Bee with a list of all of the sets that he might (emphasis on might) be able to get. I asked about posting this on the net but he is a little concerned about getting inundated with phone (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general)

Re: Using the Lego Rotation Sensor with the Handyboard

the lego 9v active sensors (i.e., rotation and light) require a pulsed 9v drive & appropriate drivers. the circuit and drivers are part of the HB Expansion Board. you could potentially adapt both to work w/o the exp bd. it's a 2 transistor ckt with (...)   Wild West FOTW

ok, ok, so I feel like bragging.. my FOTW is 6765 Gold City Junction ... only $25.00 :) There was one copy sitting by itself halfway hidden on the top shelf of the LEGO aisle at the Walmart in Upland, CA. I'm pretty sure they just had the one box. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: BAYLIT suggestions

Jon, As a customer of Baylit, I'm very sad about that, and I hope you will maintain your service.   Palm Pilot to RCX remote controller

Hi, since so many people responded and many of you have asked for a pre-release version, I've decided to release a version of the Palm Pilot remote as it stands right now. This program does *not* use the built-in IR port of the Palm. You must attach (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
