Re: H8 tools problems on Linux

Thanks for the plug, Jacob. I in fact have received a set of instructions for gcc 2.9.5, and began the work of integrating them into the HOWTO last night. However, I was interrupted and will not have time to finish the task tonight, so do expect gcc (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: One of the Mindfest pics

(...) I edited this photo and put names on the different people. All should be correct, assuming Todd labeled everyone correctly. If there is a place that the image could be displayed, email me and I'll send it back to you. Ryan (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: Ideas for a court jester?

I looked through my pieces for a red 1x1 brick with studs on all 4 sides, but didn't find one. Were such pieces ever produced? I thought they were. No one in .castle seems to have an answer, so maybe others can help?? -- Have fun! John Auctions and (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: NELUG - Some things we learned while presenting at Mindfest

(...) I (...) Don't get me wrong. I don't think that would be the best option, just a humorous one. I'd go for the rope long before the SG idea. I can't believe the audacity of some people to do some of the things that Eric mentioned. Man, talk (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Homebrew Sensor Workshop Slides

'SWonderful! Wonderful! OMG! I'm only up to Slide 3 and already a mystery has been revealed to me! (Actually it's obvious now, upon examination, to these almost (ha!) middle-aged eyes.) Fantastic presentation! I wanna be there next year! (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) like I have some sort of glass eye. (see dscn1057.jpg). But it still needs some photoshop help! (I need another computer; I hate having to dual-boot to edit photos. *sigh*) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: NELUG at Mindfest, A quick summary and more photo's.

(...) I am certainly not the best person to answer this question, but I did get the impression that the folks at the Media Lab were somewhat overwhelmed by the effort that went into organizing this amazing event. The turnout was apparently a little (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

  Problem with POV-RAY

I have just finished my first POV-RAY of a SantaFe locomotive, a General Motors SD-75M, and am having a problem with it not rendering correctly. (URL) is a png file of the rendering. It was the only compression I could do and not lose significant (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Big Brother is Watching (and reading, too!)

(...) If I had the $50k, i'd probably try this route. I could even come up with a business plan (My best friend graduates in december with a business/marketing degree). But as I don't have the money, I think that what has been discussed here is a (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: MF

(...) Ok, ok, The MF IS a prototype, look at it. I think the MAT and the MTT look good. The MF looks to , well ordinary. This thing won't be out til July.   Place you bulk order here.. (Was Re: Big Brother is Watching (and reading, too!))

Here is a rough rough draft of the revised letter to Lego. I figuresd I'd just throw out my company name to see it if helps. Who know. ;-) Please take a look, add thoughts, critize it, laugh at it, fill in your wants, or just ignore it. I've alsawy (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Big Brother is Watching (and reading, too!)

(...) Yes, I know. I'm one of them! :) (...) Yes, I know this too. My point was to use a large scale "bulk set" purchase as a means of getting enough parts to show as a proof-of-concept that something like this could work. The idea would be to then (...)   Re: Big Brother is Watching (and reading, too!)

(...) I would think that there is some lead time on the sets, so knowing what is currently available might not help us that much. Knowing what is coming NEXT is probably where we would need to be, since those are the sets that are currently in (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Big Brother is Watching (and reading, too!)

(...) My point (well ok, one of them) is that I don't think this is an extreme case. If I said "who wants 500+ macaroni bricks in the color of their choice?" How many hands do you think would go up? 5? 10? I'd guess even more. (...) Again, I think (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Taun Tauns

I hope I spelled that right, but anyway, I was thinking about what new Star Wars sets I would buy first, and I noticed that the two Kaadus from the Gungan Patrol set look like they could be converted to taun tauns fairly easily. Now I might get a (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)
