| | JDH Auction 3 - trains - ALL SOLD!!!
The two main sets consist of the train, track and engine driver only, i.e. no passengers, loads, platforms, road vehicles, etc. The speed regulators are available at no extra cost if required (240VAC @ 50/60Hz), but they will obviously increase (...) Ok, this is really rough because my comprehension of gnuplot is fairly low, but I thought y'all might be interested in looking anyway. <URL:(URL) is a graph of number of posts per week to rec.toys.lego for as long back as Deja News can remember. (...) It isn't a matter of being blown out of proportion, really. We're all here for fun, and Lego is a hobby for us (well, more like an obsession, maybe). Because it's a hobby, no one here is getting paid to be nice, or anything, and some people do (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

Woohoo! LEGO FOR LIFE!!!!! (...) Awwww..... that's not 'Lego for life! That's only 'Lego for three months'! :) Think if it were REALLY 'Lego for life', and any of US regular LUGNET-ers won, we'd put 'em out of business-- but on the plus side we'd (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

Another thing someone could do, but I'm not as upset about this as others so the someone is not me, is to actually sell the set in a Dutch auction... (...) Juniorization is more than just over-reliance on SPUDs and POOPs. It's the dorky design, the missing doors, the lack of realistic details. You know, everything you pointed out as being wrong with the set's design. I've got an old 4.5V tender (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.reviews)

| | LEGO for Life Sweepstakes

Apparently, this isn't new, but I don't remember seeing anything about it on LUGNET before. In the Parent's section at www.lego.com, there's a sweepstakes running from now until the end of April. The sweepstakes is only open to US residents. The (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.announce)
