Re: Cars, Trucks, & other essentials.

(...) It does help out some. However, I've been asking myself the question can't things be a little less monotonous? Most LEGO equipment is based upon rules and roads in Denmark & other corners of western Europe (hence the white dotted line streets (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.town)

Re: MIT Mindfest was(Re: GMLUG.ORG is up!!)

Hi, I'm just quickly browsing through here (have a ton of course work today) but I wanted to say a few things: 1) please don't forget to mention the MindFest website. Its info gets updated. There are things there like links to directions, etc. (2 (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.org.us)

  Re: IRPD revisited

(...) It also depends on the construction of the robot itself. The Lego Group's designs (in general) are usually pretty good at staying together. Some of their models can literally be bounced off of a wall and do more damage to the wall than the (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Brakes for 8880

(...) It's not surprising to me at all. 8448 comes highly pre-sorted out of the box. Had you sorted out your 8880 pieces when you disassembled it? -Tim (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.technic)

Re: What promotions are currently running?

Huw Millington wrote in message ... (...) I also read that there are ten small sets in the SHELL promo in a post by Nico. Are those the same ten sets as last year or ten new small sets? Those ten little sets are still available in several of the (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.promo)

  New (old) promo found (1601)

I have found an obscure promo set from 1976. It is set number 1601. I have posted a pic on my website: (URL) As I have not seen the set in any catalog or on anyone else's database of set numbers, I thought people in this group may be interested in (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.promo)

  Less-Common Colors

I've always been curious as to why green and brown pieces have always been relatively uncommon; I realize that it now probably has to do with the higher production costs associated with adding a color scheme to existing parts; however, what I am (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: DAT format question

(...) Bram is correct.. primatives are exactly what the name implies, general purpose "basic" shapes (spheres, cylinders, studs, etc) that are used by many of the LDraw elements in various ways, scaled to various dimensions... sub-parts are usually (...)   Re: Hurricane Floyd

(...) From the sounds of it, eastern North Carolina is devastated. We may have more opportunities to donate LEGO to needy causes. It will probably be a week or longer before we get a full telling of the situation in eastern NC (many areas are still (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
