Re: Adding motor torque [was proud of myself (+ some questions)]

(...) Yeah, that makes sense. A bit bulky, but probably worth it. I'll have to try that in Version 0.2. (...) I'm hoping to come up with some way so that the act of powering the lower-geared motor automatically causes it to engage. That way, you (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: proud of myself (+ some questions)

(...) If you have a fiber optic component from the Extreme Creatures or Space Shuttle sets, you could use that for the heartbeat instead, freeing up the rotation sensor for steering. It's ideal in this role because you don't need to know direction (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Adding motor torque [was proud of myself (+ some questions)]

=>From: mattdm@mattdm.org (Matthew Miller) =>... =>Wow, I can sure tell that there's only one motor. While it works great on =>wood floors, it barely moves on carpet. Is there a good way to add a second =>motor? I hesitate to just link them to (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

proud of myself (+ some questions)

So, I got sent home early from work today, due to the hurricane and all. Good thing because 1) I'd left our windows open 2) Kenmore Square is apparently flooded and it woulda been hard to get home later and, most importantly, 3) I made a cool lego (...)   Decoding the LEGO IR remote control

Hello All - - I'm interested in using a LEGO IR remote control to control other things besides the RCX. Has anyone here done any PIC development along these lines? I would like to use a PIC to decode the output of a Sharp GP1U581Y and convert the 16 (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I have a real nice HO layout power pack with handheld remote laying around but no speed regulator. I have started buying some train stuff but if I just buy the speed regulator power to rail connectors from Shop at Home, can I just wire those into (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: RCX 'brick connectors' and how-they-work??

OK, I have a pretty good working solution. I used "contact cement": The SOLVENT kind, not the Water Based kind. I did two experiments in attaching .002 inch thick copper foil to the Lego bricks. The copper foil has a self- adhesive coating to start (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: motorized switching rails

Nick, et al: I've posted an "alpha" version of my web page devoted to my motorized switch design. Pardon the construction dust, but you'll get an idea of where I'm going with this design.   Re: Code Repository

(...) I agree. A room search algorithm implemented in legOS would be vastly different from one implemented in NQC. Sub-groups under lugnet.robotics.code seems appropriate. Joel Shafer joel@connect.net (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  noice

Hi everybody, I'm a novice in the field of microcontrollers, and I'm trying to use the handyboard with ICC11V5 and NoICEV2.5.2.
