Re: Greater Midwest Lego Users Group

(...) I like the idea of GMLUG, and the areas it covers. I've been wanting a Chicago legofest for a while, but haven't known a substantial number of maniacs here. I won't be able to contribute much of anything to the site, because of other online (...)   Re: 9/25 gathering announcement

I can't make it that weekend but thanks for the crosspost. We're driving out the next weekend for the UT/K-State game. Maybe I should be watching the Austin group anyway since I make it out there at least a few times a year. Doug (...)   Re: O'Reilly book news

(...) The silly part is that this book is basically free advertising and free excitement about their product. It's easily going to making them more money _without_ a license fee. (...) How about "Undocumented LEGO Mindstorms" or somesuch? (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Unfortunately, both. The plates underneath I can take care of, but the windows through the unfinished backs of buildings will be difficult-- especially where there isn't any glass. BTW: we now have a train station and so need a train :-) I (...) (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Datsville - small house

(...) Nice addition. I've noticed one thing that really helps buildings (esp. houses) "fit" into the town is to have some of the foundation showing, as yours does. Your choice what color. I noticed some of the landscaping is black. Is this (...) (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: polybags perforated vs solid

We've opened 20+ copies of the same sets, and we get any mix of the three bags: 1) Perforated, so the kiddies can't choke 2) Unperforated with the big CHOKING HAZARD label, so the parents can't sue 3) Unperforated with no warning, I assume so TLG (...) (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Datsville

(...) You got 2 gray 32x32s, just make sure you landscape any area not used by the station or driveways/parking lots. Your station doesn't by chance have bay doors on both sides, does it? The streets on the long sides of your plot are 1-way, so it (...) (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LCadville

Could everyone making future responses regarding Datsville constrain them to lugnet.cad (except .dats, of course). It's my fault for not properly setting follow-ups, but we're really clogging lugnet.general. -John Van (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Datsville

(...) If you could just make a recessed area (say 20 studs across) for the dry riverbed, I can add the water. Direction doesn't really matter, since I can just rotate the heightfield. -John Van (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)
