Re: Conversation w/ a LEGO Rep

(...) Gary, haven't you noticed Governor Engler's re-election signs all over the state? They say things like "Detour" and "Road Under Construction". I figure by the time the election is over, every mile of highway will have been repaved. Steve (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  KAPAs Auction - Update

All right, we have a going 1 on most "active" sets (except those I got bids on today, they will go to going 1 tomorrow if no additional bids come in).   Re: Q:Best approach to line tracking

(...) Depending on the width of the line, you might be better off if you can keep both sensors on the line. That way there is a distinction between being on the line and being way off. If you find yourself way off, you can go searching back and (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: touch sensors aren't just switches (was Re: ideas for a RIS 2.0

I believe what we have got here is two solutions. 1) replace the Lego hardware with better microswitches 2) Make a multiplexor capable to work well with the Lego touch sensors Either one will work. I think I would rather make the multiplexor than (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: multiplexed touch sensors [was: Re ideas for a RIS 2.0]

(...) The problem with the LEGO touch sensors is that their resistance varies with the force on the plunger. To get the debouncing algorithm to work, you need to know how long the switch might be in the indeterminate state. (...) Typical switch (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: multiplexed touch sensors [was: Re ideas for a RIS 2.0]

(...) Having revisited this entire sub-thread, it seems people started rambling on (constructively, I think) about switch times, debouncing, etc. Getting back to multiplexed touch sensors, I bet it's possible to get the Lego touch sensors to work (...) Hello All, I am very interested in ordering train windows and doors, however I too was waiting to see if someone was going to start taking requests. Graham Markay (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train doors and windows

I would also be interested in buying several train doors and windows. I am not familiar with the piece numbers but I have been looking through the recommended web page: (URL) that page I have found the 4181, 4182, 4033, 4035, 4511 parts. Does anyone (...) (...) steve, did you address the issue with the inliner converting type 5 lines to type 4??   Re: wishing upon a star

Hi guys, I would urge caution on the creation of complex codes to identify pieces. I admit, I am prejudiced. I worked on a database management project back in the early 80s for a water-quality study in which water samples were identified with a (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

Christopher, Like Frank, I was waiting for this to be confirmed as "the real deal" before I pursued it. But, I am interested if someone makes the pieces available. Thanks, Steve (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Conversation w/ a LEGO Rep (is now "Solving the world's problems")

I know this thread is being cross-posted to debate, but I'll ask again, shouldn't this be moved solely to the debate newsgroup? It seems like an enlightening discussion, I just don't see the relationship to LEGO any longer. Thanks, Steve (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)
