Re: What do these macros do?

(...) It is possible to write to the popup buffer but only by using the IOMap routine (SetDisplayPopup). The regular system calls which write to the LCD all write to the normal display memory. Unfortunately, as Dick Swan suggested, the current NXT (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms question

(...) Nathan, Yes, there are ways to do just about everything you asked. I don't think the RC motors will run at full power when connected to an NXT (which can be done via conversion cables) Personally, I'd suggest gearing up one or more NXT motors, (...)   Mindstorms question

I bought the Mindstorms NXT kit at BrickFest 2006 in hopes of designing a Lego chipper. Although the sensors would make the design possible, the blade of a chipper has to turn at an extremely high RPM- and with a lot of torque. The NXT motors turn (...)   Re: LEGOfan - is it dead?

(...) Hi Todd, LEGOFan is currently offline due to a disk drive problem which took down the RAID array. We've been working with Eric at Northstar Computers to get it fixed, but it looks like the drive(s) are hosed at a low level, and require a clean (...)   Re: Unit LNE of the dinochrome brigade (Was: Rock Crawling)

(...) Awesome! Great videos! BTW if you want to know how to make bigger tires, try inserting old school 1" Lego tires into the crevices around the large grey "hula hoops" from the star wars kit. This will make tires at least 8" (20 cm) in diameter (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Integrated tram curves

(...) Hi Pete, Right now it's just a proof of concept really but at some point I intend to use it in an integrated road/rail/footpath scene. Using a mix of studs up and snot road elements could improve things drastically. Tim (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Integrated tram curves

(...) That's the shizzle, right there. You're onto something here, mate. I think you should integrate it into a larger display. Have you thought about where you'd be putting pavements? Lovely. Pete (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Integrated tram curves

Hi everyone, I've been playing around with trams a lot lately as you may have noticed. I decided I needed some integrated track/road units... but curved. Anyway, after playing around with real bricks I came up with this system. (2 URLs) MPD> In my (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Controling NXT with Bluetooth Device(such as mouse, etc)

(...) That actually doesn't address the real problem. The NXT has a "dongle" built-in, so it can receive the Bluetooth messages. It just can't understand what it reads. The NXT requires a very specific message format, and that's not what the mouse (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Controling NXT with Bluetooth Device(such as mouse, etc)

(...) The problem is the NXT is a USB-slave device: it does not provide either the power (5V) or the communications ability to run a BT dongle (this is a seperate issue from the "shape" of the USB port: that's just a bit of hardware shaping to keep (...)   Re: Controling NXT with Bluetooth Device(such as mouse, etc)

(...) Thank you for answering :-) How about putting a Bluetooth-Dongle to NXT? It will receive HID signal, but dongle will translate the signal into NXT-usable one. I think it will work, how do you think? (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Hi Bob, Thanks. I just noticed a mistake after building something else today caused because my train motor ldraw part is a little wrong. It's a fairly minor change but it's safest to wait for the MPD to be changed before starting. Tim (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
