The problem is the NXT is a USB-slave device: it does not provide either the
power (5V) or the communications ability to run a BT dongle (this is a seperate
issue from the "shape" of the USB port: that's just a bit of hardware shaping to
keep you from plugging two host-type devices or two slave-type devices
together).

I suspect you would need to develop your own BT dongle that is actually a BT
master device (not a slave device, as BT dongles on the market are), and then
provide it with a power supply (because the NXT can't supply it over the USB
slave-type port is has), and then SW to interface it. That would be... a lot of
work.
