Hey everyone, We're pleased to announced that Chapter 3 of our Lego superhero comic, The Unlikey Society, is posted.   Re: How to make stained glass in 2007

Ooh! Very nice technique for the stained glass. And a splendid interior scene overall. Well done. -Brendan (19 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Missing primitives after part update.

(...) Is there a "scan parts" command somewhere in the mlcad file menu? Maybe that'll fix it. Otherwise, you might get a better answer for this in the mlcad newsgroup, so I'm sending you there. (19 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

How to make stained glass in 2007

So there's these new Mosaic sets that everybody's all excited about. "The baseplates are transparent!" they say. Well so what? What's so great about a transparent baseplate? Here's one answer...   Sydney Fan of Lego Rumpus

Hi all ! The sydney bunch have been very busy of late concentrating on trains and christmas, that we may have neglected some of our other themes of interest. I would like to invite the Sydney ensemble to a conglomeration at my place on the 20th of (...) (19 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.events)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) Brian- I agree that fest prices cannot be much of issue affecting national, if not regional, attendance. If you spend $1.5K+ for your family to fly, stay, drive, and eat, you really aren't motivated by a better deal on the $60 per person (...) (19 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.events, FTX)

  Re: AFOL Wife Swap?

(...) There are plenty of people who think we are nut cases already, a Wife Swap episode mocking AF'sOL won't make things any worse. :D The thing I think is most worrisome is that on some of those episodes the new wife comes in and clears out (...)   Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) I'm confused. Better prices on what? LEGO (doubtful, as those prices are not driven by competition generated by fests) or things like registration fees (again, really doubtful; I've seen no evidence that those fees are driven by a profit (...)   Re: LDD vs LDraw

(...) Ahem Ahem... I know that at least Mladen and myself do this and I've been spreading the word. You pretty much have to if you design mecha. I do, however, agree that it is annoying to deal with when people don't (I'll name no names... Swami). (...) (19 years ago, 13-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDD vs LDraw

(...) I have a question about this. It is very important to me. I like to make animations, and to rotate things correctly, I must use submodels. In using other people's models, I've discovered that nobody centers their submodels to the pivot point, (...) (19 years ago, 13-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDD vs LDraw

(...) What I want to do is take the layout process (taking part list images, and partial assembly images and making actual building instruction pages interactive. Right now it is batch, pretty much on an entire model basis. I want to be able to pull (...) (19 years ago, 13-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LDD vs LDraw

(...) Unfortunately this is a tradeoff between quality and speed, if I sorted by triangle it would give better results but would also be much slower to render. There are other options for transparency sorting, like doing a Z init pass or rendering (...) (19 years ago, 13-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDD vs LDraw

(...) I'm not exactly sure what you mean about the performance issues. Running an external viewer in polling mode is too slow? What sort of interactive rendering are you considering? (19 years ago, 13-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
