I think the flex tube is a good idea. I would use the 4x4 round brick with holes (peeron part #6222) spaced on an axle to make build the supporting framework. Nice model, I have similar problems, owning a greyhound, all other dogs now look strangely proportioned! Tim You seem to have broken the formatting of the lugnet front page with your very long one word post title! (19 years ago, 6-Dec-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

I saw the Tyco "Terrain Twister" (URL) on TV and was intrigued by the drive mechanism. It looks like it uses two counter-rotating screws/augers to move it forward on bad surfaces like sand or snow. It looks like the 10020 Super Chief may be available again in the near future. Currently the US Shop At Home site says "Backorders Accepted, Will ship by 15 Dec 2006". (...) They seem like they'd be great for a lot of "stuff". The edges of the tread itself are just a bit thinner than a tile, so they should slide in the groove of the '1x4 brick with groove' piece.
