  Re: Dear LEGO Company,

(...) Thats with anything, though. (...) This was the method I actually had in mind. I'd be very nice to allow the builders themselves to market the product instead of Lego needing to... well, Lego wouldn't even have to care. They'd just have to (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Kind of a streamliner

(...) That's great! I'm not a trains builder, so I can't pass an official judgement on it, but I can say that I think that it's amazing! I love how the roof scoops in on the back. Good job all around! Jeffery MacEachern (4 URLs) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: thoughts on gbc module reliability

(...) Or to put it another way, use a GBC train system to handle 0.5 bps at a splitter module, so that downstream of the splitter the thinned stream would be 0.5 bps. This would seem to require (a) a dedicated train (& room for it), (b) a splitter (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: thoughts on gbc module reliability

(...) I guess I don't understand what you mean by a leaky bucket module. I'm imagining something that would work well for "smoothing" the flow, but it will require the output to match the average input. (...) Last year, one section of the GBC was (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Storm drain puzzle / Keep Them Rolling

Hey Manfred, These are outstanding! Is there a thread on Lowlug.nl where members have posted their MOCs, or was this all at the meeting? Was this a contest? If so, who won? I want to post these on (URL) my blog> but would like to fill in a couple of (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: RCX vs NXT for FIRST?

(...) How old are they, and will they be competing in the future? And is this going to be a long-term (5+ year) program, or a flash in the pan? It would seem the NXT will end up being a significant (the only?) FLL kit in the future, as LEGO phases (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Kind of a streamliner

(...) Wow, thats impressive looking... the lines and the colours work very well together, nicely played, and spotlit. Janey "Red Brick" (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Kind of a streamliner

(...) Hi Andreas, This is beautiful. It is so retro-futuristic. I'm imagining that it is a fuel-cell powered passenger engine from the near future. I love your earlier train and this one is ever better. You're really tempting me back to the world of (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Kind of a streamliner

Hello, I would like to show my second engine, which I have designed. It was aimed to look a little bit oldfashioned. (URL) It does not follow any real model, since (to be honest) I do not have any idea about trains, except the fact, that they are (...)   RCX vs NXT for FIRST?

I have offered to help out setting up my kids new classroom to compete in FIRST. I was asked which kid they should get, as both the NXT and RCX are available. Assuming I am mentoring, I would prefer the RCX, as I am familiar with both it and (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: thoughts on gbc module reliability

(...) Another thing we might try is to implement this splitter at the junction of the throughput zones to catch any ball overflow from the leaky bucket module. Then this shunted ball flow could be loaded onto several train cars and haulled around (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: NXT compatible bluetooth adapters

I can report success with a EPOX BT-DG02 dongle on both XP SP2 and Mac OS X 10.4.7. I've taken the liberty of putting this data in a ViaList (an application I've been working on for a while). It's available to all at (URL) monitor this thread and (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)
