  RE: Power steering for 8448

You should be able to get away with just a single rotation sensor. When you power up the RCX, you will not know the position of the steering. Now turn it one way until the rotation stops. You are now at the end point, and know the position of the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Power steering for 8448

I don't have the 8448 or the RCX for that matter but I may have a partial solution for you. I've found that steering is a perfect application for the Micro Motor (part # 5119). The motor is very small but provides a surprising amount of torque. It (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: USB->serial adapter for IR-tower

(...) I have an Entrega splitter which adds two serials, a parallel, and four USB's, and it does that kind of stuff just fine. Very cool. I've run Ethernet (10BaseT), my printer, IR, and many other things through it. The best part: the fact that it (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Juicy-Juice Promotion

  Kellogg's LEGO Promotion

  WTT: my gray road plates for your track

I have several new sets of the straight and cross road plates # 6311 & #6313. I would like to trade for train track. I would prefer straight track. I'm willing to trade three road pates for 8 pieces of track, new or used but in good condition. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Thanks Matthew for suggesting that white slip gear! A while ago there was a lot of thunder and lightning and I unplugged the computer and worked on my 8448 car while waiting for the kids to clean up the kitchen so we could eat. I put a second (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
