  Re: New Technic Supercar 8448

(...) They cunningly used the old upper/lower arms and 1/2 stud shorter tie rods to create the same old toe change with suspension travel, but for two reasons (smaller knuckle, and then vertical small springs) this change is limited by the very (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  RE: Don't use Lithium-Ion batteries

Please note that in this particular case, the RCX is reported to still work with the internal batteries. That means the fault is somewhere in the path from the external connector to the main power "bus" within the RCX. Some component that is only (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDlite 1.6 problems

(...) Huh? That's probably a problem with your LDAO-to-LDLite setup. I never have any problems this way (and I constantly launch LDLite from LDAO -- I use LDAO's editors). (...) These two might be a problem if you are using the current beta of LDAO. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Just dragged this one up from the depths of (pre-)history: (...) That would be really cool. A poster-size enlargement of a red 2x4. Ooo. Steve (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: 8448 Super Car

(...) I have built the chassis, in about 2-3 hours. The separately boxed sub-assemblies have slashed construction time dramatically - no more sifting though 100's of pieces for the one you are after. It has - rear-wheel drive only - front steering (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Don't use Lithium-Ion batteries

From: Issac Merkle <the_gaff@hotmail.com> (...) Note that both NiMH and Li-Ion can put out much higher currents then alkaline cells (alkaline cells have a high internal resistance). Could this person have shorted across the output somehow? That (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: My new Engine: SD70M

(...) Nice model. Big too (I visited Portland last week, and met Kim and Steve Barile for lunch and got to see this engine in person). One thing, we need a reasonable way to get weight bricks, that engine just felt WAY too light for such a (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

  LDlite 1.6 problems

I have been having tons of problems with Ldlite 1.6 I know it's been out for quite a while, but I don't use it much so I never bothered to say anything. I'll list the problems below. I haven't had any problems with previous versions of Ldlite. Can't (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Some window questions

Just got done reading Gary's history of windows, thanks. It looks like 1x4x2 windows only exist in red and white, sigh, no black, no grey, no yellow, no joy. Chris (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Necessary components in Mindstorms software?

Since I haven´t got Mindstorms yet, I am as unexperienced as one can be, so you must bear over with me. If I buy the Robolab kit, which does not contain the normal Mindstorms software, only the Robolab software, will I then be missing (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Some window questions

(...) notches (...) I often put the windows in my buildings inside-out. So the shutter notches are on the inside. Makes the outside look a little smoother. Not a huge revelation, but it took me about 8-weeks post Dark Ages to stumble on it. -Greg (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  RE: Don't use Lithium-Ion batteries

Someone sent me an e-mail reply saying that they had used an external Lithium Ion battery pack to power their RCX, and that after a few days of use the RCX appeared to stop working, then they discovered that it only worked with internal batteries. Voting part comments: 2400, 6105: The 1/2 cylinder studs on the doors need 4-4edge.dat's where they meet the flat part of the door. 2500c01: I don't think the lights are done quite right here.   Squaresoft Complaints (Was: Some window questions)

RE: Don't use Lithium Ion (was Re: RCX battery cover)

(...) It would be good to figure out exactly what the burnout mechanism was. does any other external power source work?   Re: Some window questions

Welcome back, Chris! May I be the first to introduce Town Junior, where not only there are few windows, there are hardly any buildings or parts! It is a huge thorn in many Town fans, and I am sure you will see this in the coming months! Well, (...) (25 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)
