  Re: Relative or absolute?

Here is my thought: Functional design is both relative and absolute. Let's define the context. In this I mean, when a given mechanical component can be modeled in Lego within a reasonable spectrum of variations. So if you want to replicate, let's (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Load in for Saturday

(...) I have a building to contribute that can go (hopefully) anywhere. I'll try and be there around 7pm on Saturday, so please get me a pass! -Greg (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Some castle-related minifigs, and a method to make custom banners

Hi Isaac Sorry for the delayed reply - I missed seeing your post when I was zipping through the newsgroups last week. (...) Interesting that you should see them that way, since (as I've mentioned to you before in private correspondence) my modelling (...)   Re: Question on Train Wheel Diameter, Minifig Scale

(...) In most of my engines I use wheels that do the functional job, leaving the aesthetics to the facias on the bogies. The Peak is a good example: (URL) Each bogie has 4 wheelsets, the middle 2 being the motor, the inner ones a 9V wheelset and the (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Question on Train Wheel Diameter, Minifig Scale

(...) In the UK the track gauge is 1435mm +5mm -2mm, but never less than 1435mm at switches and crossings. The gauge is also slightly wider on curves than on straight track. On double track, the two tracks tilt slightly away from each other. Mark (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.trains)

  LEGO on Yahoo main page...

Here is the link... (URL) case it disappears, there is a picture of a mindstorms unit with the following text: Most folks have some sort of childhood memory involving LEGOs (+114%). For some, it's of building a brightly colored skyscraper. For (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

In lugnet.general, Jake McKee wrote: (Bon Snippage) (...) I already do, because LEGO toys can be anything a child can imagine; they drive kids to be creative, and can be used over and over in many different ways. And as a child grows, and can use (...)   NELUG at April 2nd and 3rd Greenberg Show in Wilmington MA

Sorry for the late post but with the redesign of our Web site only going live yesterday I didn't want to have to do this twice and I chose to do it on our new site. Once again we had a great time. To see a short write-up, but more importantly photos (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Förklaring till min frånvaro

  Re: Holy Mackerel! LEGO survey...

* Would you buy LEGO toys for children 0-11? Yes * Why / Why not? They promote creativity as well as imagination. * What feature(s) would you add if you were the marketing director of LEGO? More basic types of blocks, etc... with more examples of (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Relative or absolute?

Does anyone think Lego design is relative or absolute? I have been discussing it with Nathanael Kuipers and have decided that functionality is mostly absolute, but aesthetics is relative. But that is just my opinion. What do the rest of you think? (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Wow that's really big

Yet another big truck by Zoltan Suzter. Everything he builds is motorized no matter how big it is. I bet it weighs 20lbs or more. I wonder if TLC will ever make normal tires in that same diameter. (URL) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.technic)
