  Re: Robolab Data Acquisition

(...) Hopefully somebody who actually knows Robolab well can answer you there, John. I think I remember that it allowed active IR polling of the RCX even remotely (i.e. - via the web using LASM), so perhaps. Or, perhaps, I'm just talking about (...) (21 years ago, 17-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

On the topic of TV, last night's "How it's Made" (Discovery channel) show visited a Toy Block manufacturer (in Montreal) now why couldn't our favourite block manufacturer do that?   Re: Robolab Data Acquisition

(...) Yeah - I have no doubt that this tool has value for non-programmers who need to rapidly stitch together some instruments to perform an experiment. But that's not what programming is about. (...) Exactly. (...) ...and at that level of (...) (21 years ago, 17-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robolab Data Acquisition

(...) Some of the amazing things Robolab can do with the Datalog are enabled, in part, by the not-available-except...olab-users firmware version they ship with Robolab. I readily admit that a tool (like Robolab) built around a data acquisition (...) (21 years ago, 17-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Robolab as a tool for teaching programming

(...) What you teach by not having a <= operator is that you should write: if ( x < 33 ) printf ( "x is 32 or less" ) ; ...rather than if ( x <= 32 ) printf ( "x is 32 or less" ) ; You can "get away with it" in a language that only supports integers (...)   Re: Robolab as a tool for teaching programming

I would agree, but it was you who said "Programming with Robolab is much like creating a flow-chart" and "if you really want to know where spaghetti code comes from, we should talk to those who think flow-charting is a waste of time" here: (...)
