  New blog: VignetteBricks

Hi all, Well, I timed this just about right. I've actually been working on the idea for a bit, but with the new .build.vignette newsgroup, the recent great success of the vignette category in the classic-castle contest, and the spate of great (...)   Re: ... and a bad, bad new year!

(...) Personally I think you are being exactly that. Wishing that the Lego company does poorly is very selfish. I see very little good that can come from continued financial troubles and may serve to hurt existing and next generation Lego fans who (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: The Hall of Albirona - The full story (Director's Cut)

(...) Wow! I loved it! I loved the model, but I love the backstory even more. I also thoroughly enjoyed all the detail work involved and your special "added touches" like the bird cage, the harp and Black Falcon guy. Ben Medinets (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: "The LEGO Group" or "The LEGO Company"?

(...) (URL) recent LEGO press release> might help clarify. From what I understand, "LEGO" is actually a group of different entities tied together by one or more holding companies, which are in turn owned by the founding family. To consolidate (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

2 axel motorised truck with 3 stud center wheel spacing

A Motorised 2 axel truck with 3 stud wheel spacing. This is a custom modified 9v train motor. (URL) I've been toying with this idea for a while. It seems a shame that LEGO makes only the one style motor truck. I used a small DC motor and a pair of (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: What if.....

Leaving off the end isn't a bad idea! In my mind's eye I see the end terminate as any other single plate thickness. Great thinking! How about a 1x2 stud notch off the end too. This way if a pair are tight up against each other (or a 6xn plate is (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Please critique my truss designs

Greetings, Technic builders! I have been very impressed with the giant bridges and cranes that you folks can build. Now I am working on a model that requires a truss. The model is minifig scale, so I care about the look of the truss, as much as its (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

The Hall of Albirona - The full story (Director's Cut)

Hello! This is the Hall of Albirona: (URL) me, I'm a link!>> In real life it's a pre-romanesque Palace Hall that was later on turned into a church. It can be found near Oviedo, Spain.   Teknomeka Instructions

Re: Ackerman steering geometry : How do you make it ?

If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Lego Technic sports racer from 1995, set 8440 also have a type of Ackerman steering? (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: "The LEGO Group" or "The LEGO Company"?

(...) Funny thing is, I found the company profile brochure (a PDF at "(URL) and it offers no guidance on what the company itself should be called.   Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) No, a bigger mistake would be to attempt to fix it, and go out of business. Do you *really* feel you would be better off in that case? Start buying Mega-Bloks to continue your hobby, would you? Be realistic. Whether you accept it or not, (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Blue Baseplate 627

Dear LEGO, I recently noticed that the Blue Baseplate #627 has been re-released in Europe. Are there any plans to release it in North America? Thanks Jeramy (21 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.dear-lego)
