  another Lego clone

I recently found a Lego-clone (not a very good one) at a discount store. The pieces include bricks, 1/2-height plates, and a few wheels and medium-slope roof pieces, in about 10 different colors. They are slightly larger than regular Lego bricks -- (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.market.auction)

Re: RIS version 1.5 coming this fall

I think I'm with Kekoa on this one. TLG have always been very hot on what they consider right & wrong (most of us have read the bit on www.lego.com where they take the time to list what is OK & what is not). They take copyright/patent/trademark (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Dead handyboard?

My hb was working fine, I took it on a trip in an antistatic bag. When I took it out of the bag, the battery was completely drained. But as soon as I started to charge it, one of the resistors burned up. So I tried charging it via the interface (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: why is no-one saying anything about my parts?

(...) If you think some of the parts need more work, you should look at them yourself. Some things you can do are: 1. If you use LDAO, load the part-file into the LDAO Editor, turn on the Stop-At-Cursor option, and step through the file. 2. View the (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: hub caps

Josh, While I build mainly in the Town System, I have to agree with you on one thing. That is some of the new colors are nicely muted. I especially like the tan color. It is a much more sympathetic color to build in than the bright ones. Gary Istok (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: pneumatics & mindstorms?

Hi, there are two ways to buys spare parts from the Service catalog: 1) Post the order to Lego France with a check (from a French bank); parts will be delivered within a week ONLY to an address in France (or Principality of Monaco, where I live) 2) (...)   Re: new contest proposal (Pat's comments)

Pat, Thanks for the comments, there's really no big hurry on starting up the contest, I just had the idea, and wanted to get some feedback. I also have the idea of making up an official flyer and orderform that Lugnetters can print out and take down (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  mouse-click bug in mindstorms software?

hi, I wrote a very complex program in the mindstorms software (the stuff that comes with the CD with the kit, and has the little building blocks) that uses a lot of its capabilities. my problem: after a lot of hacking on the program, the mindstorms (...)   Re: New SW contest proposal

I'm not a frequent poster, and have only come out of my "Dark Ages" recently. I am however an avid AFOL (check out my site), and I have made some posts to these News groups. I'm definitely not trying to scheme anybody out of money. I don't think (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

Re: repost of: ATV with rubber band suspension

(...) ryan makes a good point about not getting responses, blake. there can be lots of other reasons that people don't respond, but don't let that (or the occasional non-constructive criticism) stop you from posting your ideas. you did a nice job (...)   Re: RIS version 1.5 coming this fall

Accually, what I wish RIS 1.5 would contain would be Radio instead of IR. I have been trying to design some kind of adapter for my RCX and IR tower to do this so I can use my Real Time Control program to an extreme. I mean, IR, it is only direct (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Art Deco (Moderne) buildings using log bricks.

I've been playing with some of those log bricks lately (mostly tan or white), and when you stack them up, they give a nice "Art Deco" appearance that a lot of old buildings in the 1920's and 1930's have - sort of a "Terra Cotta" sculptured look that (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)
