  Re: What a downer :-(

Yeah, but a lot of this comes down to parents who should really monitor what their children are doing and make sure they don't do too much of one thing - be it watch TV, play video games or even read books or play with lego. Video games have an (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Lines in patterns

(...) You don't actually have to draw them last. Just offset them in the Z buffer a bit toward the camera. It's cheap, and fast, and I think it looks pretty good. Opengl does it for you with glPolygonOffset but you can examine some homemade code (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Top 1000 noisemakers

(...) I'm not quite sure I follow you, but as I did the list I found _a_lot_ of people that either did not post at all or only a few posts in 2001 that had a fair amount of posts in 2002. Of course I took away everyone who posted less then 50 times (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Lines in patterns

(...) Many renderers do transparency in a great looking way, that is not compatible with original LDraw... Think of the LDraw format as a 3D format usable in many contexts. It should not be tied to ONE implementation. Suppose we could increase (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Sorting tray suggestion.

Hi! I've read a lot of threads about what to use when sorting and/or building. Most seem to favour the old plastic trays that came with larger sets. I got another idea when I was doing some serious cleaning in the kitchen. In our drawers we have (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.build)

Do you have LEGO (R) you buy wrapped up as a gift in shops?

If so, why? (1) You do not want others to know that you are buying LEGO (R) for yourself; (2) You love unwrapping LEGO (R) sets when you get home; (3) Both; (4) Other reason(s), please specify. Rick. (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Felice LEGO nuovo!

A chi (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.it)

  Re: Lines in patterns

(...) Why should a renderer *NOT* draw lines last? Original LDraw did (IMMSMR). Better fix the renderers once than to burden the part authors with yet another META command each time they make a patterned part. Those lines in patterns served a good (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Lines in patterns

(...) The lines are there to have something drawn when the polygon would otherwise be too small to be rendered (at low magnification). Personally I don't like them in the present form, because they rely on renderers to draw objects in a certain (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Top 1000 noisemakers

(...) What I find most bizarre is how consistent the majority of posters are, the number of us who are within 0 or 1 of last years total is freakish. I imagine this is mostly down to the amount of time we each have to surf Lugnet. Psi (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.nntp)
