In a past e-mail, Yoni Garbourg (sorry Yoni, I couldn't find your email address) posted a message inquiring about flame detection. Adam Cox responded about finding sensors at www.infusionsystems.com. Yoni, what did you decide to use? I have had some (...) (28 years ago, 7-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

You mean IR "emitters"? (IR LED) If i understand you correctly, you wish to source current with the digital outputs. The digouts are from the HC11. There can't source enough current to light IR LED's. ---...--- ericson mar Master of Engineering (...) (28 years ago, 6-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I want to be able to run 2 or 3 IR xmitters from the single output on the HB with no additional hardware. Is there any problem with hooking two or 3 IR transmitters to the ground of the IR output and running the +5v from digital outputs. Then switch (...) I was just thinking the other day - could a handy board be made into a VU meter? (Digital readout on the LCD, or using the motor lights, etc.) Is it fast enough? If so, how could a line level audio signal be fed into one of the analog inputs? If (...) (28 years ago, 6-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

My lab partner and I are going to make our robot talk using a voice recorder/player chip from www.isd.com. They are easy to use. Don't know if this fits your purpose. jm (...) (28 years ago, 5-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Certainly the voltage follower will work. But I had a similar problem adjusting the sensitvity of a photocell that I solved by paralleling a pullup resistor of my own to get the proper impedance. You might try putting a 1 ohm (yep, thats one NOT 1k) (...) (28 years ago, 5-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) Actually the SP0256 and the companion Text to Speech chip supported a 'serial' mode that was much easier to use (you could use the same software uart I just posted.) Don't get your hopes up however, the speech is crude to say the least. I used (...) (28 years ago, 5-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) You're more than welcome. As for mounting: I have found that custom cutting stainless steel brackets with a dremel tool to be most effective.
