Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) I seem to recall that they had a successful firing a few years back from a static ground position (i.e. it only pointed up), where they blinded a test satellite. I'm not exactly sure if this is the same weapon system, but Lockeed and TRW were (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: train display shelf at work

I used LEGO as a demo at Comdex one year for some video stuff (an always moving non-human subject). I thought about setting up a tack at the office in a ping-pong config using Mindstorms to control it. But on second thought I'm not sure why I'd do (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: This is cool!

(...) Well, only if from Israel to the U.S., and then back again -- and if it happens much more your roots may wither! I think the word you may have wanted was "transfixed" -- which means to be motionless, as with terror, amazement, or awe. Also: (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Wow! I'm kinda jealous... And in my book that means your model is awesome! Very nice, I like the amount of articulation and the colour sceme! Great job! (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: WAFOL Get Together: July 28th?

(...) We might be able to. We have a few things planned this weekend already, but if it's a last-minute meeting before you go, we should be there.   Re: Stolen picture in Lego Theme Gallery?

(...) If you improve, then by default whatever you've improved on is inferior. "Improvement" implies superiority. Which, of course, doesn't mean that something "sucks", it just means it's inferior. If I say I think "The Empire Strikes Back" is an (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: This is cool!

XFUT .o-t.fun (...) Ah, yes (duh), well, somehow I've got the sinking feeling that my roots will be withering a lot in the next couple of years, as if they haven't been already... ouch. But hopefully... one of these days... I'll figure it out. (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: This is cool!

(...) Yup. People who put down other people for their interests are just trying to boost their own egos by putting down those of others. It just goes to show how limited their "Adult" scripts actually turn out to be. Its much better to follow the (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Market Value of Lego sets under different conditions...

Since storage space is always at a premium and I have a NLS, I was wondering how important it is to keep Lego sets complete as possible (for the future). I do assemble the sets (eventually) and then put them away for later, but most original boxes (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: FOTY - Xmas in July

(...) Disagree. You can do both. It just takes deeper pockets. I have a MISB 4558 and a MISB 6399 I probably never will open but I play with 4558s whenever I want. (...) That I agree with. ++Lar (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Stolen picture in Lego Theme Gallery?

(...) Also note that in second place in the builders gallery is the Indy Storm. Are the people who run this contest so STUPID that they can't spot a one year old set? Now this is getting just plain pitiful. (see this for yourself: (URL) ) Alan (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Silly Survey at LEGO.com

(...) Hi Eric, I agree that their surveys tend to be a little strange, especially the one that asked "how many sets do you own?" and the max was like 10 or something goofy... But you have to keep a few things in mind with surveys of these types, 1. (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

To Sell or Trade?: Boxes from 1970s / early 80s

Hello, all: I have a certain quantity of Lego boxes in storage, packaging from sets I got early on. I don't *collect*, per se, so I don't really have any use for them; however I expect they'd be of use to someone. Most of the boxes are in fair (...)   Re: This is cool!

Right on everyone! I also usually find that the people who tend to put down people such as us fans of LEGO and other people who have hobbies have no real substance to their personality and or problems that, if untouched, could put them on Ricki (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)
