(...) than (...) And? :-) Start with a 2x2 System brick. A Duplo 2x2 brick is 8 times bigger (volumetrically) than System and a Primo 2x2 is 8 times bigger than the Duplo, right? You may be able to find this book on Amazon for $75. I got mine at that price. You should also look for Industrial Light and Magic: The Art of Special Effects. Many good photos in there as well, though Chronicles duplicates all of them, I think. (...) (26 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.starwars)

I've looked at the shaft encoder routines and it seems to be getting the encoder voltage at certain times and using that to keep track of ticks.
