  Re: Kidvention.. who's going?

I'll be there anywhere from 1-8 days of it, I haven't decided how much ;-) I have the whole month off, so it's only a matter of if there is enough to keep me busy. (...) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) Bay Area DSMs (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: LUG World Map 1st Version complete.

(...) Oh, and I think you may want to increase the scale a bit when you drill in, the NA map for example has group names so small you can't read them. Either that or put the group names in a "key" with color boxes below ++Lar (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.org)

Re: LUG World Map 1st Version complete.

(...) I think that's great news indeed, but I think you meant graciously. :-) Do you know where on LUGNET they are? I didn't spot a pointer to them in your post. I got snoopy and i think it's here: (URL) but I am not sure if this is it or not. ++Lar (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.org)

  What shall we call ourselves??

There are several approaches to this question, some of us are trying to nail down a logo which may (or may not) have a location reference in it. Also since there is now a worldmap with pointers to local groups we might start asking questions like... (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Quick Q : 9v Motors

The motor in the 8735 pack (known individually as the 5225) is a much newer design that includes some built-in gear reduction and a flywheel. It has a fairly low speed, but high torque. The motor in the 8720 pack (known individually as the 5114) is (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.robotics)

ZNAP as framework (was ZNAP at GR TRU!)

I'm building ZNAP choo-choo bridges as well. One is 6 feet long and carries two levels of trains, so I have some feel for how ZNAP would extend to large-scale construction frames. ZNAP is softer than TECHNIC beams; it flexes a lot more, which has (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.znap)

(...) are (...) Well it's got ME gaga. MF looks to be a good set for parts.   Re: Quick Q : 9v Motors

From my understanding, the 8735 is a geared motor, with more torque, but less RPMs than the 8720. Quite a bit of difference between the two, I think. Sorry, but I don't know the specifics other than that. -Andy Lynch (...) between (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.robotics)

More linux feedback. firmware upload doesn't work for me.

Firmware download is not working. I'm sorry but I never tried this with the first release. A second problem is that it gives no error message if the firmware download fails.   Quick Q : 9v Motors

Is there any difference, in terms of performance and power consumption, between the 8735 and 8720 motors. Or is it the same electrics in a different case? Scott A From www.brickset.co.uk - The 8735: (URL) 8720: (URL) (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.robotics)

New SW and Adventurers sets spotted

I was in a toy store in Melb today and spotted a couple of 7155's (That's the AAT, tan-coloured SW tank) on the shelf. Also on the shelves were a couple of the small Adventurers (Dino Island) sets, 5903 and 5904. Unfortunately I can't comment on (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
