8448 & Indy Storm Engine scale correctness...

I inquired previously about the correctness of engine to vehicle scale on the Indy Storm and 8448 under a post for the tow truck, but I didn't get any replies so I thought I would refer back to the previous message with a more definitive Subject (...) (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Update on set up of the Castle display at TCS.

<snip> (...) I don't know at the moment and probably won't till we do the display but if we can't cover them all up that is OK too.   Re: NGLTC wins over local NMRA assocation!

(...) NMRA (...) Ha! That would defiantly be a switch for sure. To get into the show I told them we'd fit into any space they gave us. They ended up giving me an area 6' x 20', so we ran a real long and narrow layout. At least for the next show (...) (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

Re: 8448 & Indy Storm Engine scale correctness...

(...) Car size vs. Engine displacement: Based on the tire size, I'd put the scale of the 8448 at 7-7.6cm per stud, considering tires around 215/65/15. I'd guess the bore to be about 1.4 studs, with a stroke of 1, =13.4 cubic studs for the V8. (...) (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: microfig aerospace fighter

(...) Wow. I like its overall shape. The engine-vectored-thrust-thingies (1) are cool, too. ...So when are you going to put a microfig area on Marsbase? Cheers, - jsproat 1. Does anyone know if these vanes have a name? (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

(...) Mercator or FL? In terms of Mercator I like it a lot I think its a great tool. I also think they did a lot to improve the interface in 2.1.   Re: Old sets

(...) I agree there. I'm a train collector. I have several. When I phone around looking for more I'm often told "You don't want a lego train, you can't get the accessories or track but though an expensive mail order outlet." Or something to that (...)   Re: Vector 2X driver

I just bought a Vector 2X electronic compass for a project. In looking at it the manual, I see that if the 2X is run in slave mode I can clock out data from it at my leisure using any digital pins available on the Handy Board. This could almost be (...)   Re: Overcharged battery?

(...) I was guessing here - most chargers don't check for peak charge, since I didn't know if the Handiboard charger did or didn't... If the charger has a trickle charge of more than C/50 or C/100 then NiCds will be damaged eventually on a long-term (...) (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: RCX auto shut-off ?

I'm pretty sure that i have used the feature in the software w/o a problem to set the autoshut to another time interval, including never shutting off. I know this doesn't exactly answer the question, but maybe its a bug somewhere that will resolve (...) (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  RE: Robolab Where???

(...) I couldn't concur more. My 7 year old, who by the way could not get his arms around the RCX Code that comes with RIS, is doing some neat stuff with Robolab 1.5. We've just ordered 2.0. I think the price is right for the value and depth of this (...) (26 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Q: 10 dc motors on handyboard?

Does anyone know if handyboard can run more than four dc-motors? I want to be able to control a complex lego construction, with full control of all motors at once.   USB cameras

I put some info on what I have found using a camera with the Mars Expansion Pack on my small web pages. The USB cable is not a good umbilical, stiff.
