I had hoped this day would never come. . .
Jake:
Best of luck and thank you very much for all you've done for the fans!
Your efforts and accomplishments are very much appreciated!
Do we get a last request? Just in case we do: 100 qty packs of dark red 1x2 and
2x2 bricks in bulk, please.
Take very good care.

Wow. Well at least I got to experience the Lego community's glory days. I don't
know what to say. I really feel like the community is dieing one member at a
time.
Jake, it's nothing against you, this was more of a generalized comment. I wish
you well and I hope to see some train and space moc's in the near future. Thank
you for 5 yr's of an awesome relationship with the Lego Company and all that you
have done.
Thank you,
Ondrew
P.s. How about building an 8-wide =)

I think that's an overly dramatic statement, not backed up by any facts.
LEGO as a company might in some ways be in decline, but the fan community now is
bigger and richer than ever before. Our own digital magazine, websites for most
big themes, more and more LUG's popping up and existing LUG's getting bigger,
LEGO becoming more and more an excepted item among scale modellers (LEGO at
NMRA, in Europe at Mondial, Rail and several German shows just from the top of
my head)
Sure some people might go, but for each person going another new fan is joining
(in fact it's probably 2 or more, looking at the growth of most sites and LUG's)

well that's the beauty of freedom of speach. we're both entitled to our
opinions.

Im not much of a somebody in this community, but the one name in the AFOL
community that every little person knows is Jake McKee. You have made a huge
dent for the AFOL community that no one else will ever be able to fill, thanks
soo much for all the time and effort you have given to this community and to
Lego. We WILL miss you, and Congratulations on something even greater.

Jake, you magnificent bastard, thanks for everything you've done, and good luck
with everything in the future. If leaving the warm bosom of the AFOL community
brings you down at all, just think, you'll never have to hear any more bitching
about blay or track geometry :). Thanks again for making such a huge and
positive impact.

Now that made me laugh outloud :)

Oh, I'll still hear it, considering I'm going to return to AFOL fandom. I just
won't have to try to figure out way to make it happen... that'll be up to Jan
and Steve. :)

Best of luck in your new endeavours! Despite all the bitching and flaming from
the community you've endured (wrongfully, imo) you've done an enormous amount of
work for the community and Lego, and we've been lucky to have you there to
filter all the whining into something productive for Lego.
And thanks for thinking my Porter was cool. :) Even if you don't remember it
now (and you'd have to be downing ginkoba bottles to remember every moc out
there), I do, and it inspired me to build bigger and better in the years
following.

you'll be as well appreciated in your new position as you have been here with
us!

Jake -
Thanks for everything you've done at LEGO. This is sad and exciting at the same
time--I'm very happy for you and your new opportunity and I'm sure you'll carry
the first class work you do to make an impact in your new position. It's been a
joy working with you and getting to know you over the years and I know that will
continue, just in a different capacity as time goes on.
Thanks again!
