It's been a half a year since I last posted.

However, LUGNET is never far from my mind...

So I post!

Hope everyone is well... most of my friends that I chatted with here are on my
facebook so chatting is going on over there...

But I miss posting...

I've been doing lots of youtube lego stories on my channel recently--

<https://youtu.be/anCNzFTLgKo>

More than that, I'm doing a little sorting of my collection at this time, and
updating the #OBBCSL...

Other than that, not much going on in the hobby.  No shows, no dinners, no
hanging out with other AFOLs....

C'est la vie!

Miss you all

Stay safe, stay healthy

I'm no 'band wagon hopper onner' (if that's actually a thing...)

But with the worldwide pandemic thing going on, I'm going  to err on the side of
prudentcy.

And yes, it would be prudent to not hang out in crowded spaces at this time.

So Friday's dinner is cancelled for March.  We'll see what April brings.

Sorry for the cancellation and the short notice.

As always, I want to be considerate of everyone.

Everybody stay safe.

Yes I said that it wasn't going to happen because of The Big Show!!! (tm) this
upcoming weekend

But one MUST have a Valentines Dinner Special!!!

So the (tentative) plan is to hit the Internatinoal Centre first, set up for a
few hours, then go to Swiss Chalet for a valentines night dinner!

However, our usual 6:30 starting time will be deferred until around 7 p.m. (ish)

Dinner is here--

Swiss Chalet Dundas St
Etobicoke

A reminder for the show--

http://www.toronto4kids.com/Calendar/index.php/name/Kids-Fest-Toronto/event/8160/

Sat., Feb. 15th
Sun., Feb. 16th
Mon., Feb. 17th
10:00am – 6:00pm

International Centre
6900 Airport Road
Mississauga, ON

I hope to see you at either of those two places at some point this weekend!

Take care,

I’m trying to ascertain why Larry’s post above is the ‘Top Stories’ OF ALL TIME!!!!

101774 times viewed!!!

So December 25, 2013--almost 6 years ago....

I think someone wrote a script that loaded Larry’s post in a browser every half hour since December 25, 2013.

I sense some shenanigans in the ‘Universe of LUGNet Of Yor’ (1)

Dave K

1 - ULOYLUG - the ‘Old Timers Group’ (2) of people who once frequented these here boards

2 - OTGLUG - the “Hey You Kids!! Git Off My Grass!!” (3) group of people who once frequented these here boards and often posted in O-T.D

3 - HYKGOMGLUG - the “Outright Ornery Group” (4) of people who got to the point they were banned for a bit from these here message boards

4 - OOGLUG - Sadly, I was denied inclusiveness to this group

So a few things--

Life gut busy and I didn't get this booked and completed.  I know there will be
some lego display from members of ToroLug there, so there will be a lego
presence.

I'm sorry to those that wanted to attend.

That said, I will be at Brick Awesome in Barrie on October 26=--

So come visit me there-I may have the CSL back together by then :)

The September issue of HispaBrick has an article I wrote about the SEQ 4.5 volt
control boxes I acquired earlier this year (see rtlToronto LUGNET posts earlier
this year :) )

Wow! I'm actually feeling pretty lucky that HispaBrick took an interest in my
find!  Thanks Jetro!  It's so appreciated!

Anyway, surf on over to HispaBrick and download the latest magazine!

More than a week for notice!!

That's because our dinner this month falls on

Duh Duh Duhhhhhhh......

FRIDAY the 13th!!!! (chainsaws not included... oh wait, wrong stupid horror
movie)

So Friday, September 13th, be at the following location for dinner--

Swiss Chalet Dundas St
Etobicoke 6:30 p.m.

Do NOT bring chainsaws, machetes or other implements of death and destruction...

Unless, of course, it's made out of LEGO--then that would be neat :)

Anyway, we can have a post Bricks-In-the-Six unofficial wrap up, as I couldn't
be there but I wanna know all about it!!!  Bring pics and stories!!

If you've never been to a dinner, show up!  We don't bite, nor do we like
slasher flicks (well, I don't), even on Friday the 13th.

If you haven't been to a (non)rtl dinner for a while but feel like showing up,
we will be there.

Mostly it's just my family and a few others, but it would be fantastic to have a
larger group...

Anyway, hope to see you there.

Yes I'm shouting....

As Bricks in the Six is going to be well underway by this Friday, there won't be
a (non-rtlToronto) dinner at Swiss Chalet.

We will get back together in September and hopefully have a great report from
attendees of Bricks in the Six (pics or it didn't happen!! :) )

Anyway, see you in September!

Well, besides my continuing posting to LUGNET just ‘cause I can (and will continue to do so until they turn out the lights...) (1)

A few things

First, I wanted to see if I could actually build something non-space related after a many year focus on spacey things...

Secondly, since I was a kid and I built wooden ones, I’ve always wanted to make one out of LEGO bricks. I’ve seen it done previously, and I admire the effort and ‘buildmanship’ needed to make a Burr puzzle piece ‘back in the day’--before all these new pieces were produced...

But I waited until the 2 x 2 tile with studs came out before I had my ‘now it’s time’.

So now is the time I built it

My first LEGO 18 piece Burr Puzzle

https://www.flickr.com/photos/sparky1701/albums/72157709396743761

The last pic shows my LEGO Burr with some of the wooden ones I made almost 40 years ago.

Anyway, this was fun, and I’m glad I did it. Now we return you to the regularly scheduled spacey things :)
