Returning to the original theme of the thread:  yes,  by modern AFOL
standards,  the Cobi sets are terminally hokey and unrealistic.  But they're
not that different from TLG's own polybag sets,  or some of the early Lego
models that were block-y and badly scaled.  I think a lot of younger kids will
get a kick out of the simple models they can build by themselves and play
with.

However,  I do have to say that,  if they ship their "Space" series to the
States,  it could start a whole new wave of nasty "Polack" jokes:  those
vehicles look like they were made by lashing together pieces of old Yugos and
abandoned Soviet tanks.  Ritvik has no reason to fear that Cobi will take a
piece of their "elaborate models from basic blocks" market niche.
