With all of the Target mark downs out there I figured this was just a find of
the day. (FOTD).
Scuba Squad $2.53
Frontier Patrol $1.53
These scanned as "$clearance 0.00" at Target.  I took them to the front and the
checker had to call a toy department rep up to put a price on them.  The guy
looked at the piece count and punched in the above prices.  Not bad.  I also
passed up a couple Crisis News Crew for $6.00, may have to go back on the
weekend for those, if they're still there.

I also ran into the So. Orange County, CA lego rep while she was stocking the
shelves of a TRU yesterday.  Won't mention names or anything just in case she
reads here (it was a pleasure talking with you).  She said that the Targets
have been hammered on lego inventory.  She especially noted the one closest to
our house (Gee, did  I help do that? :P).  No information on WalMart planned
clearance, but we agreed it would be later, if at all.  Target conpresses shelf
space for toy department quickly after Xmas, hence the immediate discounts.

Any other rummors of the 70% clearance to begin on Sunday?  Someone posted
either here or RTL that it might happen.

Keep scanning those Target sets.

Because I rarely Lego shop due to a lack of a job (and hence money), I am
kinda clueless on the whole clearance thing.  I havent' seen more than a 20%
off sale.  Does anyone live in the Chicago area (especially DuPage county, and
even more specifically Wheaton) who knows if the targets here have
clearances?  It would be worth it to check it out if there is a 70% off
markdown.  I want some RESQ sets badly!!

I had a weekend retreat in Virginia this weekend, and since I was going by
myself, and was leaving early, I did some Lego shopping in Petersburg on the
way up. Got a variety of things at K-Mart, including two 6246 Crocodile Cage
sets. They rang up for 70 cents each!

I really enjoyed my shopping, in every store except Walmart that I stopped
in, I found something worthwhile (though what I found at the two Targets I
stopped at weren't Lego - I'm also collecting some of the Micromachines Star
Wars stuff, and found one thing I was looking for at each of the two
Targets).

It was weird. This morning I wandered into the toystore in the local
mall, for want of anywhere better - the Lego selection there is very
lame. Anyway, down on a low shelf were a couple of small Freestyle
boxes. Never seen them before. Looked at one. 2-high white fences! 4 of
them! Looked at the smaller box next to it. 4, 2-high white fences in
that one too! Wow! for $5.99 CN (about $4 US). Picked it up - the only
one - and bought it and took it home.

This evening, drove my daughter to fencing practice at a new location
and went for a wander round the neighbourhood. Almost closing time, I go
in a Bargain Castle and check out the toys. The ONLY Lego set they have
is... the SAME Freestyle set. (4131) Lots of them. So I picked up
another 9 at $5.88 (not much of a bargain price, but still, OK) and now
I have 40 tall white fences and a load of little-kid freestyle heads and
flowers and such.

Oh, the BSB piece... the flowers in this set are the same as the yellow
"rosette" decorations used on the Black Seas Barracuda. So if anyone has
a BSB and is missing a yellow rosette and wants one, let me know, you
can have it for the price of postage.

So, when you see my eBay lot of "Freestyle Special Pieces", you know
where they came from <g>.

Hey folks-

Sorry to drop this note... I know it's been answered, but I didn't note
the URL when I saw it last week, and now I can't find it!  Where is the
listing of acronyms to be found?  I'm catching on to some, but others
have me stumped!

Thanks for the info!
