(...) Any pictures of the new sets? Kinda odd that there is no pics on brickset and nothing on lego.com about most of these sets yet. Mark (20 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2005)

Some 2005 sets showing up already in regular stores.

Hi everyone, I have just returned from ToysRUs in Fond-Du-Lac WI and to my suprise they have some of the new 2005 sets in stock already - including a couple that I don't think have been mentioned yet. Among others, they had: 7239 Fire Truck (URL) (...) (20 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2005)

Re: New fire and police sets...

(...) What I noticed was the little set 7236 police car. It is reminiscent of the very first police car that came with a modern minifig - (URL) set 600/6600>. I imagine that's intentional... Roy (20 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.year.2005)

Re: New fire and police sets...

(...) All the minifigs are classic size. (...) It is long (30 studs?) yellow axle. The motorcycle body consists of 2 parts, black body and white hood. Handlebars are non-movable. As far I can say, also wheels and tires are new. Jindroush (URL) - for (...) (20 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.year.2005)

Re: New fire and police sets...

(...) The fig on top of the ladder looks very much like classic minifig scale. Plus, I see some interesting bits in there... fire helmets in chrome 1x1x 2/3 slopes in trans-dk-blue 3 or 4 kinds of doors (including the flip-up-open) on that one fire (...) (...) Hmm, that looks like the Jack Stone 2 wheeled bike. I can't tell if those are minifig or Jack Stone sets. Frank (20 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.year.2005)

  New fire and police sets...

I didn't know it was time for a new policestation yet, but TLC seems to think so. I noticed this on Brickshelf: (URL) like two wheeld bikes are back :-) /\/\ark "another 9 sets to buy" de Kock (20 years ago, 6-Nov-04, to lugnet.year.2005)

Re: Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship

(...) Just noticed, that there are two versions of set 7075; I bought a second set, labeled "limited edition" (same price), which included motor AND battery; when mounted, this acts as counter-weight and makes the ship float reasonably.   ?Quality Standards?

  Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship

Well, I've waited some months, but finally this ship was on deep discount. First: it IS a JacStone set, so as expected, there are ugly figs and lots of big pieces. It's intended for 4-year old kids, and indeed there is hardly anything in it that is (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)

  catalog scan

Back in 2001 the LEGO Shop-at-Home catalog showed "instructions" for building a schoolhouse with bulk packs. I can't find my 2001 catalogs. Can someone who has one please scan that page for me? Russell (21 years ago, 27-Apr-04, to lugnet.db.scans, lugnet.inst, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.town)

Re: New Harry Potter Castle Review - 4757

My impression is that the 2004 sets have improved architecture: between Harry Potter and Spider-man there are much better looking, less juniorized buildings this year. At least, there is more ornament. There's the laid-on plate roof of the castle, (...) (21 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle, lugnet.year.2004)
