  Re: This is scaring me...

It isn't/won't. TLC will always design sets - heck, the have the SW license through 2007! The new software will be a supplement product, like Mosaic. As to the exact details of what it will contain, none of us know yet. Will it be a wide range of (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  This is scaring me...

Most people love the idea of being able to design sets online and order them. I don't like it. I might try it, but I really hope that TLC continues to design sets to sell in stores. Here's why having all LEGO online would be bad-- - They would (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) Well, actually, that's not really the secret ending. Won't say any more. Finish the books, and you'll see what I mean. (...) Yep, it'll be different. But maybe it won't be juniorized. (nah) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

Also, a main reason for the perhaps "targeted age bracket" of book>4 could have something to do with the fact there's a death of a boy, age 17, (...) Thanks for giving away the secret ending. Here I am in the middle of the third book, looking (...) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) Well, actually, he was 10 (turning 11) in the first book and 14 in the fourth. Also, a main reason for the perhaps "targeted age bracket" of book 4 could have something to do with the fact there's a death of a boy, age 17, at the end. It'll be (...)   Re: There WILL Be african-american figures in 2001?!? (or will they? 2002?)

(...) No, I really doubt that. The sets for 2001 will be based on the movie, which is purely HP and the Sorceror's/Philosopher's Stone. So it doesn't get into the second book, let alone the fourth. And even if Angelina appears in the movie as a very (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

  Deja Vu 2002

Dear Lego... Any chance of taking advantage of the year 2002, "Ice Planet 2002" rereleased? Or even just making available Ice Planet parts in some (sub)theme? Cool white and transparent orange pieces perchance? [F-ups set to (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: There WILL Be african-american figures in 2001?!? (or will they? 2002?)

(...) The July press release ((URL) a four-year agreement covering the first two HP movies and 9 2001 sets based on the movie adaptation of the first book. Assuming the movies are successful, that Angelina is protrayed the same way in a movie, and (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) If you ask JK Rowling, she'll tell you that the books aren't targetted at *any* age bracket specifically. The age of the main character does go up by one for each book, though, because each book is about one year in Harry's life. He was 9 in (...)   Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) The press release says that the Harry Potter line of LEGO will arrive shortly before the movie does, in November of 2001. (URL) will probably show up in the Summer 2001 catalogue as a one page preview. ~Nathan (URL) (25 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

  Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

Weren't these supposed to be part of the 2001 line? Are they moved to 2002, or just later in 2001? I can't get myself to like the books, but the theme does seem promising. I remember seeing a tv interview on 60 minutes when the first Harry Potter (...) (25 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: No speculations here about 2002 sets...

(...) I don't get it. If you want classic 2x4 bricks, then why are you looking at the Technic sets? Why not get a bucket full of them in stead? The buckets with basic bricks are very nice supplements if you want to build large additions to official (...) (26 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general)

Re: No speculations here about 2002 sets...

(...) Star Wars System will definately have bricks and other useful pieces, judging from the ones I currenly own (podracer, snowspeeder, droid fighter, and lightsaber duel). Alpha Team looks like Arctic with better minifigures. Life on Mars is (...) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general)

Re: No speculations here about 2002 sets...

Calm down a bit. Over the past few years, Lego has been releasing new sets, catalogs, and set information over the entire model year -- so, this catalog does not represent the entire line. Last year, Lego made the mistake of hinting at two upcoming (...) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general)

Re: No speculations here about 2002 sets...

Yes, I'm also interested what's with MODEL TEAM and BIG Technic model sets ??? But I have another question - HOW MANY CLASSIC 2X4 LEGO BRICKS WILL BE IN COMPLET 2001 LEGO COLLECTION ??? 'cuse I can't see NO LEGO BRICKS in Technic sets for 2001 ! (...) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general)

  No speculations here...

...I actually *know* what *will* come out in 2002. First, though, take a look at Slizers. They primary models were released in 1999. Then Millennia, the supposed ultimate Slizer came around in 2000. Roboriders came in 2000 and next year in 2001 we (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2002)
