(...) Really too bad about the microphones painted on all of the faces... (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: New canopies/pieces

(...) Huh? Which sets was/is it in? eric (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: Alpha Team Equipment

(...) I must agree that it looks a lot like Res-Q, but I like that color scheme (Blacktron I with trans-blue instead of trans-yellow) so I don't mind. It looks like they have a Divers sub, too. The black/yellow/trans-a...trans-blue scheme appears to (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

Hmmm. I think you are right. I haven't really looked at any of the Arctic sets before. They are pretty big slopes, that's for sure. Hmmm. Does that mean that they have the same angle as the sloped Ninja walls? -Andy Lynch ----- Original Message (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: New canopies/pieces

It looks to me like the Imperial shuttle has the new 6-wide canopy piece from the Space Port sets, only it's in the smoke color (yay!) and has printing on it (boo!). Dave Lorbaat <eric@nospam.thirteen.net> wrote in message (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

(...) I'm pretty sure these are grey versions of the Uber-slopes available in the big Arctic base set. eric (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Alpha Team Equipment

Is it just me, or does it look like Alpha Team bought a lot of surplus Res-Q equipment when their spy department was founded? eric (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

Yikes! Look at the size of those slopes that make up the top wing on the imperial shuttle! <set: 7166> (URL) can be deceiving, but it looks like they are something like 1 x 6 x 5 with two studs on the top. It looks like only two of them are the (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

(...) Now all we need is a three-fig "hero's" pack a la battledroids <set:3343> (...) Are you sure, this is not really clear to me? (...) Confirmed. There are two of these pieces in the Studios Cameraman set as seen on my site in close-up (URL) (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

(...) Ooph! Sorry but this catalog has me more excited for LEGO than ever. I think they are definitly moving in the right direction! I am not a set collector, I just want the parts for the most part so that might be the differance. I love the Mars (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Color name for Statue of Liberty Sculpture #3450

(...) The new green is used in several places on 7311 and in the little walker in the 7317 alien base. I like the name "verdigris" green I've seen mentioned in the Statue of Liberty posts. John AFOL and his money are soon parted. (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Color name for Statue of Liberty Sculpture #3450

(...) Looking at the 2001 catalog pics posted here: (URL) it looks like this "Antique Green" is being used in <set:7311> on the back side of the "wings." So this color is not going to be exclusive to the Statue of Liberty set, even for 2001. BEN (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

(...) Wow, I really disagree with you. I am mush more excited about this year's offerings than those of the past few years. (...) That isn't a big deal, IMHO. While it does make that model a little flimsier, the set is still full of great parts- (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  New canopies/pieces

Jeez. Just quickly looking at the new 2001 scans on FBTB, I can ID all kinds of new pieces, especially new "canopy" type pieces. 1) The Imperial Shuttle set has a new canopy (and definitely has a pilot in there) 2) At least one of the Life on Mars (...)   Re: LEGO 2001

I am usually pretty optomistic and I have liked many of the sub-par set designs that LEGO has done since '96. But 2001 is the WORST new catalog I've yet seen. Allow me to elaborate: The Life on Mars theme... The 7315 shuttle's whole mid section is (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO 2001

Sorry to follow myself up: Interesting notes abound on the fbtb scans Tim kindly did of the 2001 brochure. 1) The top of the new TIE is a 4x4 radar with printing. Then again, the AT-ST side panels are 4x4 dishes too. 2) There is indeed a black (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: My Space Theme Wish for 2001

(...) Not to mention the sound effects in space! The only thing we heard during Dave Bowmans EVA in 2001 was his breathing, whereas we heard thruster fire and the deployment of braking chutes in 2010. Dave! (26 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)
