Hi all - SCLTC has just finished its latest show! (URL) the weekend, the club displayed at the Fullerton Train Station. We had a great time, showing off what we do best to a semi-drenched public during Saturday's downpour and a massive crowd on (...)         Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Geoff Gray
The whole thing is (as usual) spectacular. However, one piece shined out in my minnd way above the rest: (...) The InterRail station is GORGEOUS!!!! I love the use of the train rails to make the curves. It is a wonderful marriage of art and (...) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Jake McKee
(...) All around a TERRIFIC layout, with an amazing train station. The other thing that I loved (on the other end of the scale) was that wonderful sand castle! Love it! (...) Can't wait! Jake --- Jake McKee Webmaster - B.I. Portal (URL) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Kevin Salm
(...) Likewise, Excellent Layout! SCLTC produces stuff that I really admire and aspire to. I hope someday my club (LUCNY) can consruct layouts half as good as SCLTC. I am well known by now for copying stuff done by other train clubs. The stuff that (...) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Thomas Michon
(...) Thanks for the comments! We are delighted to hear that others acknowledge and appreciate our existence. =) (...) People in our club look up to some of the things other clubs do, too. I, for instance, am wowed by PNLTC's Oregon Convention (...) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Thanks for the comments and the complements about the SCLTC's latest layout. Glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing our stuff and hope that it helps you with a future project.          Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Thomas Michon
(...) Can't believe you are either, considering it's been two full days since I posted the announcement... interesting phonomenon. (...) We're glad to hear that. We had a lot of empty space in our layout, too, but I think I did a great job at not (...) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —John Gerlach
(...) <snip> Oh man, does this ever bring back memories! (URL) your deep links are just not 'lugnet friendly'...) A nod to USMC recruits, I presume? I went through Marine Corps recruit training in San Diego way back in the early 80's... Lovely town, (...) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Josh Baakko
(...) Lol, John, I was just there too ;-) The comment I got 3 time durning the show was that MOC looks like it was made by me (although I didn't). Josh (LCpl Baakko) (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Tim Strutt
(...) That InterRail Station is stupendous! Just beautiful! Many other lovely things in the layout too, but that Station takes my breath away. Congrats all. Play well. Tim Strutt (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Rick Clark
What, are you guys trying to hide this show from us!? This is an amazing display with awesome pics. But by not cross-posting on lugnet.trains, people like me who use a newsreader for most of my LUGNETing missed it completely! Note to others: (...)         Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Thomas Michon
(...) I've noticed that when you post to a specific newsgroup, it filters up the tree anyway, when you view it in LUGNET, and since some people complain about cross-posting, I decided to trim my posts to .scltc and .announce. I thought that people (...) (21 years ago, 11-May-03, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, lugnet.trains)

Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Rick Clark
(...) I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) it's better to err on the side of posting to *more* newsgroups for an initial message (assuming the post is appropriate to each newsgroup, of course), and then setting the follow ups to *less* (...)         Re: SCLTC - Fullerton Railroad Days - May 3-4, 2003 —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Yes! This is exactly the desired practice, in my view. I've (re?) included trains.org but set FUT back to the group that in my view, is best to host the particular discussion (of Fullerton Railroad Days...), the group specific to the SCLTC (...)
