Thanks for the comments and the complements about the SCLTC's latest layout.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing our stuff and hope that it helps you
with a future project. We look to other clubs, as well as to each other for
ideas when we take on a new section of the layout. For example, the Sand
Castle appeared on a previous SCLTC layout in a playground setting, so it
seemed a natural that it would appear in our California Coastline scene. So
I checked with the originator to see if it was OK if I copied her work for
placement at the beach.
Also, another great source of some ideas for the beach scene was Miniland at
Legoland California. I stopped in to see what they had decorated the beach
with there and besides a sand castle being there, they provided me with the
idea for including the beach volleyball scene too. So inspiration comes
from a variety of sources.

check the website in about 2 weeks as we hope to have more pics up by then.
