Mindstorm Mall Tour looking for a few good LUGs

A couple weeks back I posted a pretty critical but not mean-spirited (IMHO) critique of the mall tour as it passed near me (reference message Dear Lego n=2518). I was then contacted by Jeff Ardis the tour manager by e-mail. He stated that indeed (...)   Re: Selling my LEGO inventory

Dude! Just because you are going away for a while doesn't mean you have to sell off! Box it up and store it somewhere-- *some* day you'll be glad you did (or your future son/daughter/niece/nephew will;-) Think about it at least. -John (...)   Selling my LEGO inventory

Hello all, I want to let everyone know that I'm selling all my LEGO's. I've reenlisted in the good ol' US Navy and I'd like to know if anyone wants to relieve me of my LEGO sets and parts. All are in new condition...(mostly trains and town) My (...)   Re: Handling "Kid play areas" on layouts

(...) A "K-8" is a standard size storage box for LEGO. It's about 30"x18"x16". I have one at home, I'll get an exact measurement and post it sometime. JohnG, GMLTC (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Handling "Kid play areas" on layouts

(...) I'm still not sure - Could you please clarify what " K-8 " is/means? I seems from what I'm reading that it is not the name of a set or style or "line" of LEGO, but rather a nickname for a container that holds excess LEGO that can't be put in (...)   Re: Handling "Kid play areas" on layouts

Just a follow up to the results of the Kids area at the recent NGLTC show. First of all it worked great, these kids were climbing over each other to play. So next show the table will have to be twice as big. For this show I had a 3'x6' table, 2' (...) (24 years ago, 16-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

PNLTC 'organized' or, rather, met under the name in June 1997 so that applications could be submitted for the Sept. and Oct. GATS venues. We also started building tables at that time. Initial activity and pics were graciously posted by Ben on his (...) (24 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.org, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Which to collect - 4.5v, 9v, 12v

Thanks for everybody's input. I have made a decision. I am going to buy as many of the 12V trains as I can afford. (I might even buy some to sell on eBay so I can afford more!) I can then always convert to 9V later on (if they are still available?). (...) (24 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: New Model, MOC Fabuland Train

Thanks Now you mention it, it does remind me of train on a Tiny Toons video game.   Re: New Model, MOC Fabuland Train

That's pretty neat. It has a very quirky appearance to it. It reminds me if Disney's Toon Town. What are you using as a motor? It looks like an old 4.5v motor (the large black kind with a chassis). However, it looks like you are using technic rods (...) (24 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.fabuland, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)
