(...) Smaller shows, more "fun" shows- don't go to a show that doesn't at least offer free donuts. Don't sweat the detail level- make a fun running toy train layout, and let the smiles on kids faces bring you back into it. I realistically would NOT (...) Sounds you like you have to prune the tree. Those who don't contribute should be expelled. Apathy is highly contagious and must be stamped out immediately. This is a hobby, and thus voluntary, but some sort of minimum contribution to the club's (...) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-03, to lugnet.trains.org)

Our train club is stagnating. Hardly anyone shows up to our building sessions, and productivity has dropped to almost nothing. We've lost direction, we've lost enthusiasm, we've lost committment. The inaugural show of the Central Ohio Lego Train Club / Lego Builders Group (Coltc) took place during the Lego Road Show, in Cleveland. The location was nice, in the back of the Great Lakes Science Center, with a view of the lake and the (...) (...) ... Was the camera you used the same camera as this site offers? (...) If was different, but very similar. The camera fit easily in a 5 wide housing, and was less than three studs wide itself. (...) I agree. We did a show in March and there was a vendor selling LEGO trains. Most of them were older collectable trains so the prices were a bit high for the standard show visitor, but it was nice to be able to point people in his direction (...) This past weekend NCLTC had our layout on display at the Great American Train Show (GATS) in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is the third GATS show we have done and while our layout has always been popular, we have never won the competition. Much to (...)
