NGLTC at the Greenberg Toy Show

The North Georgia LEGO Train Club will be presenting at the North Atlanta Trade Center, on October 2-3. We are having a layout of about 18'x 12'. This time we will have a nice digital camera on hand, so we can finally get some pictures up on our (...) (27 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: tables (wasFirst Meeting of NOVALTC!

The 6-tracklength width of the tables is indeed a fundamental issue as it essentially determines the number of parallel lines without adding extra tables. Member Will Chapman used gargantuan 40x90inch tables for a few years before PNLTC formed. At (...) (27 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Transitional piece construction

(...) Hi again, had a better idea you still need to make to insulated joint but at each joint you only need to put scoth tape on one side of the track: see the other ascii art trial | | A | | | = -> insulation | | | | | | middle section | | = |-> (...)   Re: Transitional piece construction

(...) I'm not 100% pure. So I would use sticker edges between rail joints to insulate. Or just mount the track one stud apart, that makes a fine gap. (...) Why? You just need two switches back to back, like so (bad ascii art) A2---\ (...) (27 years ago, 24-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Transitional piece construction

How would you connect 2 different LTC layouts together when the way the transformers and therefore power distribution is different? If you did a straight connection then one group would control the others trains. The solution I thought of was to (...) (27 years ago, 24-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: First Meeting of NOVALTC!

(...) ...Hmmmm... The folding legs would be nice, may have to investigate once I get the initial tables built. My observation at the moment is how to make track loops on it. The width of the table is just at the curvature of the track, so I'm having (...) (27 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: First Meeting of NOVALTC!

PNLTC Tables - if you guys want to chat send us some mail. Ben Fleskes designed the tables and there has been several revisions. The size of the tables and the hole patterns on the side to bolt them together has remained the same as original plan (...) (27 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  First Meeting of NOVALTC!

Sorry- I meant to send an update. We had our meeting as planned at the historic Union Station in Washington, DC last Sunday. Jeff Stembel brought along his steam engine. Nice Work!   Re: Space Original Creations Etc.

I agree with everything Todd said except for the below part... (...) And PNLTC may well deserve an update. After all, it's got my cars there so it's by definition cool. But I was talking about GMLTC, not PNLTC. The real GMLTC site is not up yet. But (...) (27 years ago, 14-Aug-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Train Module at BayLUG

(...) Mike, That is a good idea, IMO to turn the modules sideways to give yourself extra room. I am doing the same think in my home layout of 5 modules.   Re: Train Module at BayLUG

(...) Why do this? Just match the heights! If the top of the GMLTC module is the same height as the PNLTC module you're all set. However... hmm. there may still need to be a transition because PNLTC modules have fixed height legs. So do GMLTC (...) (27 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf.sj, lugnet.trains.org)
