  Re: This is odd...

In all fairness. the LEGO® train motor does not have that much inherent tractive effort to begin with...hence the addition of rubber traction tires on the wheels. The train motor was designed to pull only their assigned train cars within a set (i.e. (...) (22 years ago, 25-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 7896 "Straight and Curved Rails" Set Review

All- I have to assume this post is meant as a tongue and cheek joke (though I don't see that much humor). Ignoring that the rails are not 9V, there's the basic issue that the set is 50-50 straights and curves. That's a horrible ratio to force/foist (...) I also am a firm believer in running short trains with LEGO®. Not only do they tax the 9V motors less, but they're easier to manage and somehow convey a more dramatic effect to my eyes...especially when using two-axle equipment. -Harvey (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)
