  Re: 12V compatible with 9V

Yes, it is. The 12V guage is the same as the 9V and even the motors are the same size, so you shouldn't have any problems running the 7745 on 9V track with a 9V motor. But, if you are getting 12V track with the train, try running the train on 12V (...) (26 years ago, 13-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

Pictures from the second Great Western LEGO Train Show at the STEAM Museum, Swindon, UK

We, the Brickish Association, put on our second display at the STEAM museum (www.steam-museum.co.uk) on Saturday 21/Feb/04. Seven of us contributed to a 3m x 12m (6' x 36') layout, and Mark Bellis bought a small layout and his 8mm:ft scale trains. (...) Hold on for a few weeks. I have a new design to present which meets all your criteria for a remotely operated switch. In the meantime, you should absolutely design your layout for manual switching. It is much more satisfying (and prototypical!) (...) (22 years ago, 18-May-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Idea for a track power pickup for non motored trains...

(...) I've used a 27 mHz hobby setup powering a 4.5V motor before. It worked quite well, for about 1 hour at a time. However, it required 10 N cell batteries to power it. It fit into a battery car that had the guts cut out of it (I have a spare...). (...) (21 years ago, 14-Feb-04, to lugnet.trains)

My latest project. A GE C40-8W. While I was researching the loco I came across this pic on railpictures.net (URL) color scheme intrigued me so I did some digging. (...) Yes is a good idea, but I have two problems, one the schools are on vacation (now is summer in the south), and the seconds is a difficult to find a CNC lathe in our technical school here. But I will try Best Regards (21 years ago, 12-Feb-04, to lugnet.trains)
