Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —Mark Sandlin
(...) Now before people get all excited about this, bear in mind that "customized" probably means you can change the color and one or two pieces. Just a few words of reason before things get stirred up. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —Matt Brooks
(...) Ya know, as I dug through shop.lego.com, I realized that they probably just mean you can spend $1,000,000 buying separate bulk train packs and THEN build your own train. THAT makes more sense than something similar to the Mosaic. Matt (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —Frank Buiting
(...) Why "Coming April 23, 2001" while a lot of the train specific bulkpacks are available today? Perhaps in april we will see even more train-parts available? Then again, the train in the picture has new stickers so I guess there will be more to (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —Jason J. Railton
(...) They're not bulkpacks. They're just the old Service Packs (SPs) of wheels and buffers (though not forgetting the long wagon base kit). From an e-mail I got from S@H just before they went up on the website, they said they're looking at what (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —James Brown
(...) They're probably the 2x2x2 sloped brick aka 'minifig dress' element. James (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —Eric Joslin
(...) That's exactly what they do. It's a 2x2x2 slope, otherwise known as the "minifig dress piece" due to its occasional use in that role. eric (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —Jason J. Railton
(...) Yeah, I know. I just meant that they're nothing new. (...) I think Matt was taking the mick with his message about buying $1 000 000 dollars of bulkpacks to get enough of the right pieces to build a single engine. But have a look at the ad (...)         Re: Trainiacs can rejoice —John Musil
(...) It appears that the engine in the photo does not use a powered wheel base set like set #5300. This would make this train engine a push along train making the price of the engine relatively cheap (but what is cheap in lego terms?) When it says (...)
