Palantine Steamer with Wagons Set —James Mathis
Jumping from the latest "high speed" rail model, I have now tried an older fashioned model. This train set is modeled after the Palantine steamer and wagon set. A Maerklin model of the set is shown here: Steam Locomotive: (URL) you can see, this set (...) (24 years ago, 6-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) (Some Snippage Self-Evident) Now THAT is some intense design work. I'm not usually one for euro-style rolling stock, but I gotta say what you've got there looks really really good.      (...) as (...) James, I'm speechless!!! :-)) I was going to say "even if it's only 6-wide,it's marvellous",when I looked at the 9 studs on the roof....It's 8-wide!!! I think it's your best train ever, even more beautiful of the BOB train (...) (24 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Nooooo! 8-wide..... ;-) Yes, it certainly is. I have you to thank for the inspiration given by your 8-wide European creations; in particular, your 8-wide wagons are strikingly realistic with the dual slope (45 to 33 slopes) roof lines. (...)       Jim- Shame on you for burying your cool snow plow in another thread! That outrageously shaped plow is a killer to model, but you have done an excellent job! Thanks for posting it:-) -John (...) (24 years ago, 8-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

Hypo-BOB in 8-wide (was Re: Palantine Steamer with Wagons Set) —James Mathis
(...) And, then, to build two BOB's in 8-wide and figure out how to link them nose-to-nose! They really do this. I have seen photos of two BOB trains coupled together. (...) I think the 4533 to be so small as to get crushed by the Palantine steamer. (...) (24 years ago, 10-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Palantine Steamer with Wagons Set —James Mathis
(...) Hello, Toyota ?!? Yeah, the overhang over the drivers as I've built in 8-wide isn't possible if built as 6-wide. I would have to just leave that part off; and, that might really detract from the look and appeal of this locomotive. The size and (...) (24 years ago, 10-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Old Toyota commercial (You asked for it, you got it....Toyota!) (...) lol You've been working in 6 wide too long:-) Reminds me of when I first went on my 14 wide binge.
