Re: Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

(...) Hey Bob I have just tested your code, and it works good. But is it possible that you could write some documentation to your code, it would be nice to fully understand what your doing.   Re: Hiawatha steam locomotive

(...) Very clever and simple design. The Train does look better with the dark red. And the GPs are nice too. It's sweet that you were able to work in a headlight. Didn't notice that before. I haven't messed with lighting too much. The 1x2 9v light (...) (17 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Hiawatha steam locomotive

(...) We'll I finally was able to snap a few photos of the front truck fix for my Hiawatha at (URL) last week's show>. Before the fix the engine ran fine at home but would always derail at shows.   Re: 4.5 / 12 Gray Rail Variations

(...) No, not if you look at the picture. I've either only got one type or never noticed the difference myself. Tim (17 years ago, 14-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains)

  4.5 / 12 Gray Rail Variations

(URL) This is a picture I took with a variation of these 2 parts There are apparently 2 slightly different molds of these 2 parts, I think I knew this before but had forgot about it until today. One type has an extra notch that let you connect a 2 (...) (17 years ago, 13-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: PF IR RC protocol released! - NXC

(...) Many thanks John and Jason for your work on this. I am a comparative newbie to NXC programming but I have my NXT working like a PF IR remote handset now that I set up the sensor correctly! NXC has given me the programming environment to (...) (17 years ago, 5-Feb-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) Many thanks John and Jason for your work on this. I have been using the NXC functions to control PF IR receivers from my NXT. TLG has just released the following information: "We have been testing the LPF RC Receiver today and discovered an (...)   Re: Mind the gap! London Underground 0-6-0 Pannier Tank Steam Loco

(...) David, the model looks great. I used some similar techniques when I built my 0-6-0 pannier tank engine. "Duck" from the Thomas the train series.   Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) It looks like the PF IR receiver will be very useful for train control and other continuous duty applications. But the only remote available is for intermittent operation. So the only LEGO option to running in PWM/continuous duty is to use a (...) (17 years ago, 31-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Scale Modelers Aren't the Only Ones . . .

(...) If the uncoupling is for the switching yard, have you considered an on-loco uncoupling device? It does have it's limitations but at least it can be moved around the layout realistically.   Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) Here's my fantasy: implementing prototypical ATC (Automatic Train Control) signalling with sensors (e.g. counting coupler magnets, as the best functional equivalent to axle counters) at block boundaries to detect block occupancy, and IR (...)   Mind the gap! London Underground 0-6-0 Pannier Tank Steam Loco

In my continuing theme of London Underground rolling stock I have turned to steam traction. This is a Metropolitan Line 0-6-0 Pannier tank loco.
