Thank you all for the advise and help. We're underway with starting a shelf layout. The basement project is finally complete, last of the paint and carpeting. The playroom is nearly 11' a 11' and has already been claimed by a Duplo freight. Seeing (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)

Made a decent dent in the benchwork framing yesterday. Turns out I was short a 2x4 for the narrow connector between the two loops. Since I had done the drywall finishing myself, I went ahead and bolted the framing directly to the wall studs. I went (...) (20 years ago, 23-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)

Yesterday worked out to be pretty productive. Made a donation to Home Depot and bought a straight edge for the long plywood rip cuts. Good thing I didn't have to show both sides as a finished edge. The carbide teeth really ate away at the topside of (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)

Updates to the layout. Painting was nearly wrapped up this weekend and by Tuesday evening I was asked to start getting my old Lego sets out of the closest. (URL) not completely happy with the configuration. Base plates and track are fighting for (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)

Some simple model railraoding techniques might offer some depth. Perhaps a blue gradient staring at about 12" above the table top, to about 36" above the table (depending how high the tallest buildings are). Since its already light blue, get some (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Woodworker's tip and nitpick... 1)Once you've laid out your line, take a utility knife and cut into the wood along the line (both sides if your anal and want a good finish). That will help minimize the splintering that is prevalent when (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)
