Nice article! I was able to do something similar, except I brought the
wire in from underneath the track through the slots between the ties.
I also have a very nice soldering iron and lots of experience with
getting connections like this to work without melting all the
plastic.
I only had to expand one of the little guide holes to bring the wires
out flush on one side of the track.
Remember, you can use a short, thin, multistrand wire for your final
connection to the track. These are generally much more flexible than the
speaker or lamp cord you are using.
A short piece of wire has little resistance, and will not drop much
volage even at high currents.
