ParLUGment at Railfair 26, Ottawa, Canada

ParLUGment just had our first showing here in Ottawa, and everybody loved it. The word "LEGO" was on the lips of both young and old at the Train Show. Everybody was coming back again and again. It was such a joy to see. The layout was the most (...)   NMRA L gauge (was IndyLUG takes 1st place at GATS)

(...) Thanks! What kind of ruling are we waiting for? An acceptance into the Standards and Recommended Practices, or a ruling that says L gage modelers can be legitimate members of the NMRA? A trivial question: why does the NMRA SRP spell "gauge" (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.us.indylug, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Trolley ldr file

(...) You know, sometimes it isn't the teacher, its the pupil. I flipped the wrong door on the "backside" of the trolley. The doors on the left side (drivers point of view) are nicely mirrored, so that the red lattice points outward. The doors on (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Reissue 7740 as legend?

(...) I referred to the following post on 1000.steine: "von letztgenannten z. B. die sehr starke Andeutung, daß es wohl eine neue Legende geben wird, die den legendären 7740 als Vorbild hat. Natürlich leicht modifiziert als 9V-Modell. " meaning, (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Trolley ldr file

(...) when all the software jobs are gone. I grabbed the trolley .ldr file from that page, spun it around to see the nicely mirrored doors, and yuck! The backdoors are still inside out. Maybe the link points to the wrong file? Don (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Reissue 7740 as legend?

(...) I think there has possibly been a misunderstanding or misinterpretation, (unless someone is way better plugged in than I am!!!).   Re: Reissue 7740 as legend?

(...) Definitely one of the best train sets ever! I know I'd buy a couple (more)... *grin* A question to the .trains crowd: Might Lego change the 7740 before rereleasing it? Perhaps (this is just a random though) change the grey to dark grey? JohnG, (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Reissue 7740 as legend?

On the 1000.steine forum (German), I read that at Legoworld, Zwolle, The Netherlands, it was heard from reliable sources that a new legend will be based on the classic train 7740, in 9 V of course. I hope this is true, on of the best train sets (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: IndyLUG takes 1st place at GATS

Congrats! Keep up the great work guys! With all the winning our Lego train clubs are doing at these events, maybe the NMRA will finally make some sort of ruling on L gauge.   automated level crossing question?

Greetings, I was hoping to pick the brains of those of you who have had automated level crossings in your train layouts. I'm trying to figure out how far in front of the level crossing the first sensor should be (that tells things to lower the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)
