Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!

(...) You snipped an important disclaimer. I'll repeat it for your convenience: "- These images are preliminary and are subject to change" But more importantly, your substantive questions about the images would have to be directed to LEGO... ILTCO (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

As always, awesome engine Shaun! The Boiler design especially, is nice with all the different angles, surfaces, curves, SNOT, etc. I think it needs steps on the pilot though, doesn't it? Especially since it's a yard switcher. Just put those 1x2 (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

(...) I think they're there to spread the 'pull' of the train buffer/magnet over a larger area. The buffer has tabs that fit into the clips. By spreading the stress out a bit more it makes it less likely that the buffer will pull off the motor. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!

(...) Question on the #4514 ((URL) does the drawing at the bottom-left show the minifig with the red kerchief and blue hat, when he's not included in the set? Is he there because he's in one of the other sets? To me, that little drawing looks like (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

(...) Ahhh, I get it. The "gap" in the clip matches a brick's wall thickness, right? Hmmmmm, interesting .... I never noticed that! I'll have to see if I can make use of it. Thanks, Lar. -s (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

(...) Yes, there is. You can clip a 1x4 or 1x6 brick into those tabs and it will stay securely in place. Some official LEGO designs (4563? I think so, but am too lazy to go check right now) use this feature so that's presumably why they are there. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

(...) Hi Bob, Thanks for the comments. The rubber band is currently just for decoration - it doesn't serve any structural purpose. I've used rubber bands to good effect in the past, especially since they allow you to make "tubes" and "pipes" that go (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

(...) Thanks, Steve! I'm planning on working on the LDRAW file for it this weekend. As for gotcha pieces, there really aren't any that are too bad. Here's what I came up with: (1) you need 44-studs worth of those curved 1x2x1.3 black bricks - I used (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!

(...) You're welcome but this was an effort of the entire ILTCO Organizing Committee, (notice how it was signed), not just me. I'm just the mouthpiece. (...) This has been suggested already and is under review. (...) I don't think we have permission (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  GMLTC update

Hello all: Before I start this, let me say that perhaps I don't read or post here as often as I might or should have. I apologize. I find that as this group is dominated more and more by prototypers I just have less use for it, being more of a Lego (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!

(...) How about an alternative available through Shop-At-Home that doesn't include the power supply and regulator? Or track even? 4511 looks good, though I think I might pass. Nice to see a Lego figure boarding a train with a valid ticket for once (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!

(...) Hi, Nice pictures but there's something i notice on the two new train sets : Both will be equiped with a speed regulator,(another speed regulator i pay for to end up on the shellf) and the 4511 seems to be only a circle track [no straigts]. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

I smell another poster! What a great engine! Wonderful detail, has a compact yet strong look. After spending a ton of time designing my last steamer from scratch, I was wondering if you got any instructions! This is one that I'd love to run on my (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

Sweet model. I will definately have to incorporate some of those ideas into something. Better yet, how would you feel about making an LDR file of this and sharing it out??? <hint> Really nice work!!!! (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

I use IE 6. I think I found the problem. The thumbnail dosn't work, at least for me. The code for the first thumb is <img border="0" src="/images/lego/10...></a></td> you forgot to close the img src quotation marks. It causes my browser to read (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train Engine Shed Sneak Peek Photos!

The design just begs to have two of them combined into one giant shed. But I suspect I will have a tough time getting approval from the "accounting department" for a purchase of two sheds and the 2003 Freight Train... Bryan "David Koudys" (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)
